Piper's Practically Perfect PTR..Wish Trip! 3/2-8...Upd Pg 126- TR Link!! Hooray!

So sorry that Piper is having to do the IV. I sure hope it makes her better and fast!

I'm so excited that ya'll get "the big give". That is so nice!! It is awesome that these volunteers are doing this.

I'm so excited for you to be part of the big give!! I had no idea what it was before now.

Thanks, hon. She'll stay on the IVs for prob 3 weeks, and it's two different meds, vancomycin and meropenem. The vanc in particular is a pretty hard hitting drug, but they usually seem to do the trick! No bugs going to Disney with us, tyvm!

Good Luck with the IV's. Brigitte was on the Vanco and meopenem our last inpatient stay...she was on both for about 12 days. It worked, but she also got RedMans and needed to pretreat with both benadryl and tylenol...We also had to slow the vanco down and infuse over 2hrs vs. 1hr. I'll be praying for you guys. Brigitte is on d5 1/2 4 days a week now...its a pain in the neck, but sure does make a difference for her!!

That is soooooo exciting about the Big Give:cool1: How amazing is that!! My older daughter and I sit on the couch and scroll through all the beautiful things that the ladies make!! She told me I should start sewing so that I can make those clothes for her and Brigitte!!!:rotfl2:

:lmao: I love that your readers spilled the beans! I was thinking, what a coincidence that Amanda decides to share that TODAY, oh, wait a minute, it wasn't her that spilled it! :lmao: Anwyay, I'm dancing right with you!:dance3:

I am so excited that you guys are getting a Give!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

And I love the fact that some of you guys had no idea what it was until Piper and Amanda were included!

If you want to get involved somehow...send me a PM...we always need more people to help...and you don't have to know how to sew! I certainly don't! :rotfl:

I know, much excitment!! I had no idea what it was either!!! I'm glad Jordy asked because I wouldn't have figure it out.
I have a picture of my family I thought I would share here since Piper hasn't really gotten to see a picture of Mackenzie and Since Amanda was brave enough to put her's here....well, I guess I have no excuses. ;)

:I feel very lucky that we're receiving a Give..and I know Piper will too once I tell her about it tomorrow. :goodvibes

Congrats on the Big Give....:cool1::cool1: I will tell you when Jake was picked and stuff started coming to the house, our whole family cried when they kids opened their stuff. Amazing does not put into words the work, the time, and love that went into each and every gift that was made for Hannah and Jake, and the rest of our family. Till this day, I still get teary eyed when I think of the kindness the Big Give Ladies have in their hearts!!!...:lovestruc:lovestruc...Can't wait to follow your thread!!!:wizard:

Thank you for the prayers! I wish we could do 12 days! We usually end up doing 21 to get her really cleaned out..hopefully she'll stay that way. We're very excited about the Big Give..I sew a bit, but nothing like these ladies and gentlemen, not to mention the other great pixie dust people send out!

:lmao: I know, right..I was trying to keep it under my hat for a few days, but that's okay! She was as excited as I was! Thanks hon..I can't wait to see your girls stuff too!!

I'm so glad you posted a pic, Camille..your family is really lovely! Piper has seen a pic of MacKenzie from your Mickey head heist, but she liked seeing her again, and seeing the rest of the family! I love having a face to the name as far as you're concerned! I'm glad Jordan asked too..I was oblivious to the fact that some of you guys would have no idea what the Big Give was, I should have thought about it... :rotfl:

Hi Amanda! I have been lurking for some time but wanted to come out of lurkdom and say hi. You are an amazing Mom with one amazing daughter. Your courage and perseverance are incredible. Thanks for sharing your story.

I'm sorry to hear about the IV's. Hopefully things will improve quickly. Congratulations on Piper being chosen for the Big Give. How exciting!

:welcome: I'm so glad you came out of lurkdom, and thank you for the sweet compliments! Piper was very happy that we're doing the IVs at home, for now anyway. I'm very excited about the Big Give, and I know Piper will be as well after I tell her tomorrow. I'm already planning how to thank everyone involved when we get back from our trip. I just feel so fortunate and thankful for Piper and our family to be included in something so special!

You and me both!! I was Happy that Amanda was Happy but had no idea what it was !!!

I don't know how I missed you ladies before, but I'm glad I scrolled up! Rosie, I am so glad so many more people are being introduced to the Big Give and what these wonderful folks do for wish families! I'm hoping maybe someone will decide to get involved, it's the least I feel like I can do for them for everything they're planning for us!

I have to admit, I was telling Heather Sue in an email that I think I've cried more through this whole wish process than I have since Piper was diagnosed. I just feel so blessed by this whole experience. I know I'm going to have tears rolling when the packages start coming in as well, and prob the whole time we're on our trip. :rotfl2: All our photopass pics will have me with red eyes, you watch and see!

I cried as we left the house that morning for the airport, we even had our wish granters in tears that morning...and cried the whole flight, and than all broke loose once we walked into the GKTW...and than I realized I was the ONLY ONE in the orientation that night that still had tears coming down my eyes...:rotfl::rotfl:. I think in every picture they took of us at GKTW, both my hubby and I had been crying.

As a matter of fact I will be crying when we go volunteer next month...:rotfl2: my husband tells me I have to try to hold it in, but not sure I can.

Enjoy!!! Your family deserves it...:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Well I just read through your entire PTR. You and Piper are both amazing. Your New Years Eve post made me cry. I was in the same situation years ago. I left my ex when I was 3 mo pregnant with my third child and supposed to be on bed rest, with nothing but my two little girls and a couple of suitcases. I'm so glad you were chosen for the Big Give and I can't wait to read more as you plan your trip.

Thank you. Glad to know I'm not the only one..I keep trying to figure out what I can think about while we're there to keep me from crying the whole time! I know we're going to totally enjoy it, not just during the trip, but in years to come as well!

How awesome! Congrats! I can't wait to hear all the big give details!

Thanks, GB..I have a feeling that before it's all said and done you guys will be wishing you could duct tape my hands to the chair so I couldn't type anything else about how wonderful it is or how thankful I am.. Speaking of which..I don't know whether to thank you or kill you for giving me the idea to butter pop-tarts over on Liesa's thread!! :lmao:

Butter Pop Tarts? NOBODY tell my husband. Sheesh. You trying to kill us?

Can you imagine how hard it was to save our news for a month? Oh, wait, yes you can. You didn't even tell Piper when you were going until Cmas!!!
