Pins Help?????

I am going to Disney in 3 weeks time and going to buy a few sets of pins for my friends sick child who was due to go to Disney in December but can no longer go as he's been treated for Cancer which has come back for the 2nd time. He isn't worried about his cancer just missing his holiday.

Now i want to make him a special box for Christmas to try and make up for missing his christmas holiday. I am buying a few sets on my trip (which makes me feel guilty for going on ) but i would like to get some more but can't afford too much. I see some people sell on ebay but i have heard people say their is a lot of fakes and i don't know how to tell the differene. How do i go about buying from ebay. Anyone know any good sellers.

There are a lot of fakes on e-bay so you do need to be careful. You'd be better off posting this question over on the Disney Collectors Board as there are some Dis pin experts over there

See my post here, I buy 100 at a time but he sells smaller amounts, I dont know if he would let you pick them up to save postage, his address was near Disney. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1618330
If you do buy off ebay just read all the small print and know exactly what you are getting, there are a lot of rubbish pins on there.

What a great idea, same here, I would be more than willing to post you 1 or 2 pins to help you. Does he have any special interest pins?

Thanks ever so much its very nice of you all, i will pm you my address.

It would be great if you could put in a little note or card saying where the pin came from as i think that may really help cheer him up more when he gets his box of pins. My son has donated some to the box (I think my son shares my guilt in going to Disneyworld while he will not beable to this time). I am hoping he can go some time in the new year when he's healthy.

Oh not sure what pin interests he has, all i know is he was really looking forward to doing pin trading on his trip as i brought him a pin set in 2005 and he loved it. I think he would like typical boy pins like Mickey, Pluto, Goofy etc. but i think he will be pleased with anything. I am going to pick him up a couple of sets when i go, something special but not sure what yet.

I am also going to ask his mum to take some pictures of him opening his box on christmas day and post it here. I am hoping to take it myself but not sure if thats possible depending on if hes at home or in hospital. As at the moment he's in a hospital 70 miles away as its a better hospital for him to get better with high tech stuff.

We have friends whose daughter has Downs, she loves postcards - We bought postcards for the Characters to sign to give to her when we got back. He might like these also.
