How scary is this ride? DH and I don't see a point in riding a FL ride without DD2, especially if it means we'll have to wait longer for rides all 3 of us can ride. DD2 has no problems with PoTC or HM, but if this has some scary moments, we'll skip it this time around. We always skip Snow White, no matter which park we go to. We also will be taking her on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, which may meet her scare quotient for the trip (but it's one of our favorite rides that we don't have any more at WDW...I won't get on my soap box...let's just say that I'm pretty certain the first time I went on Pooh at WDW was last year with DD...)

If you don't do Snow White, probably Pinochio probably won't work either. Of course tastes and preferrences change and maybe your DD is ready. Or maybe it will be worse this time. You might have to try it out and see, then use that to see what else she might or won't like.

Not knowing what your child's buttons are I would say there are three things in Pinocchio that can be scary. Near the beginning is a large version of Stromboli. He is mean looking and sort of speaks loudly. If loud sounds and music scare her the carnival scene can be tough. It is extremely loud music and a sudden blast of air blows a carnival game piece up in the air. Toward the end Monstro the whale rises from behind some rocks and roars though not real loudly.

If your DD2 has no problem with HM she should be fine in my opinion but she is your daughter and you know her best. the only minor scary part is towards the end is a giant cardboard Monstro the whale coming out over a wave with some strobe light / lighting effects

It definitely depends. My cousin used to be deathly afraid of pirates but loved HM. In my opinion i think overall pinocchio should be ok but then again there are a few parts that might be too intense. The carnival scene might be a little overwhelming as lots of things are happening, it is loud, and sound of the background sound effects such as the laughs are a little creepy! The ending is very cute though!
