My daughter will be 6 in May and has requested a Pink One Direction Birthday party. We are having the party at a park pavilion so there will be picnic tables. 1D does not have licensed party supplies out yet. I have found some pink "Rock On" party supplies and some One Direction wrapping paper of the boys in their signature-colored squares. I've also found reusable 1D cups that i plan to fill with candy and use as favors. That's about it! I'm stumped as to how to make sure she gets the One Direction party she really wants. Any and all ideas for a great (yet inexpensive) party would be appreciated!

My dd just had a birthday in Feb and of course loves 1D! I got really lucky and found heart shaped helium balloons with the guys on them in Valentine clearance at Walmart for $0.62 each! A big budget saver is making your own cake. That way you can make it the colors you want and I went to my local cake supply place and they made an edible image of a picture of the group we found online.

Hello!

- Get a cake that you can apply a picture to so the cake can have 1D on it

- Bring a stereo so you can blast 1D music all day for the kids

- Like put the tail on the donkey game, do one for one of the boys. One of them wears suspenders so it can be "put the suspender on Louis game"

- Do a 1D trivia game

- Print pictures of the 1D boys and post them around the pavilion walls (my parents did this for my Spice Girls bday party when I was a kid)

Doe IParty have those big cardboard standups of the guys? You could get one of those and take pictures of all the girls standing next to it.

In the meantime, get your daughter some magazines with their pictures in them, and give her some posterboard and she can make a collage (or two or three) to hang up as a decoration.

You could play musical chairs (with their songs, of course!), and you can play their music in the background. Maybe you could make up a trivia game for the girls to play?

Justice has a small line of 1D stuff (not party supplies)....but t-shirts, socks, buttons, fake nails(?), stickers, sticker albums, etc. You might find some inspiration there....

P.S. When I read your title, I thought you were having a P!NK and 1D party...mixing themes. I wondered how you would pull that off for a six year old!

Hahaha I don't think my DD knows who p!nk is, but that woud DEFINITELY be something she would request.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've been stumped on pulling together the decorations so that the "rock star" theme of the plates matches the boys.

Her favorite is Harry... Maybe it could be pin the hair on Harry! Lol

Our Walmart has cups of the guys individually and of the group for less than a dollar each. They were on an end cap by the party supplies - I know there were cards and stuff too - I don't remember plates or anything though. The cups are very cute!

Yes, I forgot to mention that I got the cups! I'm going to fill them with candy as the favors. Thank you!

Oriental Trading has a girls Rock and Roll theme that's all pink. My 10 year old wants a One Direction theme for her 11th birthday this summer.I'm getting the stuff from Oriental trading and then picking up some Bop and Tiger Beat and those type of
magazines and using the pictures and posters in there for decorations. We have her parties outside also.

Thank you! I looked on there earlier because they have free shipping today. I'm going to show her those when she gets home from school!

Our Five Below has lots of 1D stuff. How about Pin the Pink Heart on whoever?

Maybe they could write fan letters?

I know that Justice has the life size cardboard cutouts of each 1D boy. They also have a huge (like 6 feet long) poster of them. For a cake, you could buy the mini figures that are about $6 each to stick on top of a cake.

If you check out ETSY, you'll find all kinds of handmade 1D options...including party decorations, invites, etc.

I used these for a couple of partys for my girls

they are clear square plates. I print out the design in the exact size of the bottom flat portion of the plate and glue them on the underneath with a glue stick. I have done hunger games and puffles - a big hit. Here is a picture of the Hunger Games plates

What an awesome idea! I've already bought pink Rock star plates linked above, but I think I'll try to find some serving trays at the Dollar Tree to do this too! I'll use the 1D wrapping paper.

If anyone has any ideas on any other ways to use the wrapping paper as decorations, I'd love to hear them! I've also found the pink zebra and purple zebra duck tape that I could use too. I'm having fun planning with my DD. some of her ideas are hilarious (fake money all over the tables)!

Since we are in the middle of planning the same party apparently ;)I will tell you that I am using the zebra print duck tape as frames for the posters. I'm going to glue the posters to posterboard to make them sturdier and then frame them out in the duck tape. In my head it looks really cool, lol. With the wrapping paper, great idea by the way, could you maybe wrap up a cardboard box to use for cards without a gift? We have a very large family and she is allowed to invite her friends. At her age my daughter gets mostly cards with gift cards and cash in them so I think I may use that idea myself.

I also bought balloon weights at the Dollar Tree and am going to glue those to card stock and cut out around the boys, then attach them to the balloon weights and run them up the center of the table.

Hahaha awesome idea about the posters. Are you printing out the pictures of the boys or cutting posters and then putting on card stock? Last month around Valentine's day, Dollar Tree had pink zebra print tissue paper. I can't find it now, and I'm so mad I didn't get it then! I would've made my own balloon. Weights. I really like your idea of putting the boys on the table. Harry will be the most prominent of course! She <3 him! Lol I have found heart shaped balloons of them to use as well.

I'm going to cut the pictures out of her magazines and those tween magazines always come with a few poster inserts so I will be buying those. Cheaper than buying a full sized poster and she can read the articles later. I also made big tissue paper flowers for her sisters birthday party this year and she wants some made out of hot pink tissue paper to hang from the ceiling of our pavilion.

Great idea! Thanks!

I would buy one of the large cutout peoople and have the girls pose for pictures with him.

I have been working in elementary schools lately. I went to an afternoon dance and the Harry cutout was very much appreciated- kids were dancing with him, posing for pictures (solo and group), kids were singing to him, and the female principal even danced with him!
