Are they there?!?!???

We used to have a Sea World here in Cleveland and one of my favorite things was checking out the pink flamingoes. At our SW, they were near the entrance, off to the right.

I'm trying to find them on the SW online map and can't. But I do see some pink dots near the entrance, off to the right - could they be my beloved flamingoes???

If I never saw Clyde and Seamore again, it would be too soon. But I very much want to see my flamingoes.

Anybody know where they might be? (fingers crossed)

I'm not sure where they are but I can confirm they are there. When we were near the manatee exhibit they were out for their walk. Not sure where they came from or where they were going. I guess this probably doesn't help much. Sorry I don't know much more.

We seen them there also(near the mannatee's).But also seen them near the beer gardens also:confused: Don't know if they have a desig area. Got to pull out some photos of our past trips. If I find some I'll try to post them for everyone.(I'LL TRY)

The flamingos always were near the entrance (near the bakery), but I think this area is now fenced off for the new ride that they are building there.

Noooo! Say it isn't so! This is so disappointing. :(

Off to write my, "Dear Mr. Sea World Flamingo Man" letter. ;)

Cool-Beans, Have you seen the pink flamingoes at the Akron Zoo? My son used to love going to see his pink fla-bingoes! :)

I have never been to the Akron zoo. Cleveland zoo all the time (when it is warm), but never Akron.

Maybe I'll go there this year. Does it have monkeys? I don't know why, but we have no monkeys in Cleveland. I've no idea where the monkeys went. I miss the monkeys, too.

We just got back from Orlando today. I was at Sea World yesterday Monday April 14 2008 and we where there on April 9, 2008. I only saw the flamingos twice, both times they were walking them by the between the Whale & Dolphins theater and the bottem of Journey to Atlantis ride. I was dumb I should of asked someone where they are LOL. Maybe when you go you could ask them where the flamingos will be. We had a GREAT time at Sea World !!!!!!. Can't wait til we can go back :yay: again !

I haven't been to the Akron Zoo in about 5 years and it has since been expanded but they did have a monkey island. We loved the Akron Zoo, it is smaller than Cleveland and when you're pushing a stroller it seems to be all uphill lol. But I liked it alot....and visit those pink fla-bingoes. :)

I wrote to SeaWorld asking about the flamingos. I just received a reply stating that the flamingos have been relocated to an area that is not viewable by the general public but that they will return to the main park in the future.

In the past, the flamingos could be seen parading through the park in the morning, so, since they have been spotted on parade recently despite their previous home being a current construction zone, I assume this is the only way to see them until their new home is created for public viewing.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will ask about the flamingos when I get there, but won't get my hopes up.

LOL, when you're pushing a stroller at the Cleveland zoo it seems like you're always going uphill because you ARE!! :rotfl: Especially the back one by the road.

For the most part, you're going up or you're going down. I know about pushing strollers up hills around the zoo!! I'm good at it. :)

While it hasn't been announced by the park officially, all assumptions are that this is the new ride being built:
http://www.ioacentral.com/other_parks/seaworld_orlando/manta_concept_art/index.htm
It is said to combine a ride with animal habitats. It encompasses a large area from just inside the entrance plaza and extending toward the Penguin Plaza area and between the Dolphin Stadium and the Waterfront. It is an area that formerly held an aquarium building (that was removed in a few years ago), the flamingo habitat and a backyard garden exhibit. The reply I received from the park stated that the flamingos would return, but they didn't say if it would be in this same area as part of the new attraction.

There is a separate thread about it here:
