I have never ventured into the picnic area by the main entrance but was wondering if many people really use it? Would you say the locals use it more than us out-of-towners?

For sure, they have kitchens and cars to make and get thier picnic lunches in.


I've always seen people there in the middle of the day. If you bring a cooler that becomes the option for you. I haven't eaten there in over a decade.

Its a peaceful little haven to have some lunch. Sometimes, we'll bring subway and sit over there and eat before we go into the parks. Idk if its locals or not but its kind of hidden off the beaten path so if you don't prepare to eat there, you might not think of even wandering in.
We like it. There is only ever a few folks in there (kitchens or cars...not sure what that meant I didn't see anything like that) just benches and trees.
