OK you regulars should have encountered the pine sap problem before. Is there an easy way to remove it? My entire 40 ft long roof is full of sap. HELP!!
I would think that the tree sap would coat the roof and fill in the cracks in the caulking thereby saving you the time and trouble to recaulk the roof seams.
Sorry, I'm just looking to play. I have not had any experience in this area but I would look to a product made for the roof. Some of the caustic cleaners can have an adverse effect and lead to problems.

As mentioned if you have a rubber roof like EPDM be very, very careful about what you use since IIRC products that have petroleum in them will attack and destroy the glue since the petroleum easily penetrates the rubber roof material.
