Pinched nerves......A PAIN in the.....

Well I have done it again.....another pinched nerve in my neck.....anyone have an idea how to get it stop hurting????

Sorry to hear you are in pain. Pinched nerves are no fun. I usally chase mine away with my friend Jack. Just kidding I usually use a warm compress.

I like ice on my neck when it's really bad for about the first 24 to 36 hours. About 20 minutes per hour. Then I switch to heat. Aspirin is good too if you can tolerate it. I only use my prescription pain killers at night.

Ice and Motrin for the swelling. Heat will feel good at first, but can make the swelling around the nerve worse as time goes on.

Hot showers, hot compresses and or a heating pad. Get the x-ray and rule out something more serious than a muscle spasm. Be careful sleeping. Take an anti-inflammatory drug. Motrin, advil. Muscle relaxers and physical therapy can help wonders. I hope you can get some relief soon.

Thanx for the reply.....I went to the doc and he told me it was just a pinched nerve......could take up to 2 weeks but it would get better.....no - driving,lifting, or anything to aggitate it......and i have to leave in a few min. to go to mobile al.....about a 90 min drive.....lol
