How old were your kids when you started trading pins? We are wondering if DD5 would like it, or if we should wait for another trip. Any suggestions?

Our DD4 really enjoyed it this year. I'm glad we tried it. DH and I got into it too. She got really good at spotting the CM's with the lanyards on.

Five is definitely old enough. Our youngest was only about 1 and a half and still got the concept. He wanted to trade like his siblings and would pick out something off the lanyard of the CM, but he had a great time.

My 2 DDs are going to do pin trading next month and they are 4 and 6, so I say let her do it!

My son was 5 on our trip in May when he started pin trading. HE ABSOLUTLEY LOOOOOOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His little sister (2 years old) wanted to do it too. I bought her a lanyard our last day and she got a pin.

My son was even fortunate enough to get one of the Tinkerbell Dream pins. It is his favorite now.

I have already bought some pins on clearance at the Disney Store for our next trip (whenever that may be).

Will someone explain to me how pin trading works? My DH's cousin gave us about 30 of them for our upcoming trip for the three kids 8,7 & 4 but I'm not sure how it works.

Thanks for asking, I have been wondering the same thing. I know it's been going on for years but I don't really understand how it works. Thanks!!
