Pin trading questions

Most cast members have a black pin flap which can be traded with adults or kids. But some cast members have special green pin flaps which are for trading with kids only.

They did away with the child only ones a while ago. At least 4, it was my first trip and I didn't know about the green lanyards until another guest told me I couldn't trade, and the cm corrected her.

Our family loves pin trading for a lot of reasons, and it is one of the affordable, fun extras that can really add to the magic. If you go to Disney Springs and visit Pin Traders, they have a machine (photo-booth like) where you can get your "official pin trader lisence" for somewhere around $10. It's cute if you happen to be there. (Oh, and the pins at that store! I could go crazy in there!!). Have a great time!

We all wear lanyards, including my youngest who was 4 on our last trip. There are kid-size lanyards that are shorter. Neither of my children have ever complained about them being hot or heavy. For us, the only ones that get too heavy are the double wide lanyards when they are full. We got some for our upcoming trip, but they were very uncomfortable and heavy once full.

Oh maybe that's it.... we did have to tie up a lanyard around his neck to shorten it- didn't realize there are shorter kid ones I'll be on the lookout!
I also like the idea of keeping them in bags and bring them out when you are going to trade. I have a shadow box at home with all of the pins my son has collected and it's so fun to look at!
