Pin Trading questions

You can start with one, but I usually keep one half of my lanyard as keepers and the other side as traders. I usually have at least 5-6 traders on a lanyard at all times, with more in my bag to replenish if necessary.

But then again, I have 500+ pins in my collection now....so I'm probably the wrong person to ask!

The shiny pieces of metal are so addictive.....

Yes, invest in a package of these for any pins you want to keep! You won't be sorry.

But remember not to tighten too much on the pins when putting the locking backs on - the pin backers can break right off with too much pressure from those locking backs.

Where can you buy the locking backs from? My daughter actually put her on her lanyard today. She was asking will she have to trade them all .. I will have her make one side trade. one side keep.

The locking backs are sold at most of the pin stations in the parks, and all of the larger pin stores like Pin Traders in Downtown Disney, Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom, Pin Central in Epcot and the Sorcerer's Hat in MGM.

I think my kids started out with maybe 6 pins on their lanyard 3 trips ago...then they got more for Christmas Stocking presents, and we'd buy one for a souveniour and now they probably have close to 20. They all have bulletin boards in their room and they put the ones they want to keep on it and only took down the ones on our last trip they wanted to trade since all 20wouldn't fit on their lanyards. They love pin trading and we usually go to DTD a day to do our trading. We always ask the CM's if we can keep our backs cause we've found that ours our tighter and stay on better then the ones they usually have due to all their trading and taking them on and off. I keep a baggie of extra backs on me too because inevidably someone always notices that one of their backs are missing.
