Hello!
We are heading out on the Magic next month. My girls have recently really gotten into pin trading. I would appreciate and tips or advice. Thank you, so much!

Make sure to go to Officer pin trading night. It was at 7:15 or 7:30 (can't remember which) on our cruise in the Prelude area. It was a BLAST. They were so patient with all the kids as they went around the circle a million times seeing what all had been traded for. We also traded out of the books in both gift shops and guest services. It was a ton of fun for my girls!

Yes, the Officer pin trading is great!! All the ship's officers are out with pins on and trade with anyone who asks them.

There are also pin trading books in the shops up at the counter where you can go and look at pins and trade any pin for a pin. Also I believe there is a book at guest services as well.
Happy pin trading! Also just a suggestion.....you can buy Disney pins in bulk on e-bay and they are much cheaper. You buy a lot of say 25 pins and then you have many pins to trade on the ship. :) :) :)

Just got off the Magic. There was a little star wars merch shop deck 3 forward starboard side with a pin book behind the counter for trading. Not sure about other places (we are not super into pin trading but had a couple of doubles so the one stop was fine for us).

On our Disney Magic (November 2016 out of Miami) cruise, I had bought my niece (7 years old) some pins from EBAY. This was her first cruise, and I surprised her with the pins, and me and her went to the gift shops on deck 4. Both gift shops had pin trading books, and the girl at the counter told us to look through them, and pick out what we wanted, and they she would take them out, and we would make the trade. Over in the White Caps gift shop, we were looking through the pin trading book, and a very nice Disney cast member (Oxanna: not sure about the spelling) asked my niece what pins she was looking for. So later that evening, my niece went to her room, and there was a flyer, with an invitation to the Officer Pin trading event, and on the flyer, was a brand new Anna & Elsa trading pin attached to the flyer. A great example of the "Disney Difference"........jonathan

Also, for Officer Pin Trading night, the officer's have lanyards that get refreshed. That is, as soon as most of their pins have been traded, they get a fresh lanyard. You can get some really good pins there. Also, on the wonder (Dec. 2014), we did have someone stationed outside the store and did pin trading nightly (not on the magic though on Dec. 2015). So they might have additional nights with pin trading. The person asked what my wife was looking for and the next night she would have some pins saved up specifically for my wife.

We did the Officer Pin Trading on the Magic last week. It was at 7:15 so we made sure to be at our early seating dinner a little early so we weren't rushed. It was located at Preludes, just outside the Walt Disney Theater. The officers gathered in a circle and you could go around to look at their pins. My DD also did some pin trading at Mickey's Mates where they have a case on the counter marked "Pin Trading" and you can look through them yourself. Have fun!
