We were just at our Disney store and found a boxed set of pricess pins (6 pins at 1/2 price=$12.00). We bought them hoping that pin trading will still be around and popular next January.

What do you think? Any chance they will stop pin trading on the ship in the next 6months? My DDs had such a great time trading with the CMs that I hope we can look forward to it again:cool:

I don't think pin trading will be stopping...they are still doing the artist choice pins every month...we saw the previews of the upcoming at the last pin event...so stock up on traders and have a great time!

MNmom: I am surprised you were able to find any at a Disney store. None of the stores around here sell them and my mom was at the Mall of America last week and she was nice enought to hunt down the Disney Store (took her 40 min). They said they don't sell them anymore. I've been getting a few off of ebay. They have a really good selection and since you have time you can get a good price on the one you want.:D

The Disney Store by us had them last Christmas, they were selling them for $1.25 each. They weren't nice ones but I am upset with myself for not buying them for my kids to trade.
Friday night my DD asked if they had any pins and the woman said not now, but I will give you one, and gave her a NYPD pin with Mickey wearing a NYPD hat. Then I made a purchase and she gave me one also. They were giving the pins free with every purchase.

Thanks so much for this info. I am so glad to hear that everyone thinks pin trading will be around for a while!! My kids loved looking at all of the CM lanyards and picking their favorite. We would go into the shops to trade pins and we didn't hear "can I have this/that" to buy other stuff.

I found a pink velvet heart shaped box with 6 princess pins in it. It was selling for 25.00 and we got them for 12.50. I bought 2!! I also was able to stock up on about 10 pins last winter when they were about 1.50-2.25 a piece on clearance. My kids will have about 8 pins to trade each on the cruise and I don't care which ones they want or pick. Then they will each have a nice memory from our trip and we won't have to buy anything on the ship---(yeah--right!! I must be dreamin')

I think pin trading is there for awhile. They even have a pin trading cruise, Nov16-20 on the Wonder.

Recent pin trading cruisers, have they moved the pin trading events? When we went last October, the pin trading always took place in the lobby. If we wanted to look through anybody's book, we had to sit on the stairs leading into Lumiere's, since the seating area was always filled with folks waiting to go into dinner. Picture us in formal wear, camped on the steps. Diana

It seems like I mainly saw kids trading pins. Do adults actually trade pins or just collect them?

Yep, they do. While trading with CM's in the parks off lanyards seems to be mostly a kid activity, there are lots of adult pin traders/collectors. That's who buy all of the limited edition pins. Diana
