Do they make smaller/shorter ones for tiny kids? My 1 year old loves to do what her older sister does, so I thought maybe we would get her one, but when I put one of her sisters on her to check size, it's down to her calves. Do they make small ones? (BTW...she doesn't want to take it off now :rolleyes2 )

I have seen shorter lanyards, but most of them are not the best quality for trading pins off of. You should look at Hot Topic or Claire's Boutique, if you have one close by. I have even seen some at Walmart, but not that often. The shorter ones that I have seen have Sesame Street or Care Bear characters on them typically. Good luck with your search. Maggie

I doubt they make them. Usually for anyone under 3 years of age, the pins would be considered a choking hazard. And you would need to worry about the lanyard itself getting caught in something and stangling the child. Another reason to sue Disney????

To shorten them a little for my daughter who was 5, we tied a knot in it in 2 places, worked like a charm.

You could double over the lanyard, and put in a couple of stitches to hold it together or you could cut it and add velcro. Just ideas.

I think this is a great idea, and also would be a lot safer for your dd, since the velcro would open it there was a hard pull.

I know that in Lakeshore Learning Materials they sell a kind of lanyard with the velcro in them, and since they are mader for smaller kids, probably one would fit your dd.

If you go to the monogram shop on the right side of main street in the MK, (by the jewelry store i think), you can get a mongramed lanyard in a matter of minutes. These lanyards close with velcro so you could shorten it and get her name monogramed on it.
I got mine 2 years ago and they have lots of colors and about 100 colors of thread plus you can get a mickey head monogramed next to your name.

It was the best thing I have gotten in years, they are just like what the CM wear. I think it was around $10-$12.

I think that is a really cute idea!

But maybe you should find a substitute for the actual pins. Even 1 yr olds can have a strong grip, and it could lead to injury if she pulls the back off of one of the pins.

Maybe some Disney stickers she could put on her laynard? Or Disney patches you could sew on?

Good luck! :wave2:
