pin "trading" at the Disney Store ????

So, what's the deal?
How will it work? Who? What? etc. I did not get a chance to ask last week, so does anyone here know?
I see in the DS near me the CMs are already wearing the lanyards with the first weeks pins on them. But have heard other guests ask to purchase the pins off the lanyards because they did not get them all and the CMs told them they could not sell them. Will these be the pins that they will be able to "trade" ??

At the DS I went to, CMs are not allowed to trade pins. I wanted to trade for the first one, but they said they could not. I guess they are only for display purposes. But I don't know about other DSs.

There are 10 disney stores around the country in a pilot program that trade off lanyards on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 - 8 pm , I believe.

If the pilot works, ,any more stores around the country will start trading in the evenings.

Call your disney store to see if they are one of them.

We will ALL be trading around mid-October. Can only trade for the TDS 100 year pins though. Tuesdays and Thursday nights. I've already had guests ask me if i could trade but we're not allowed just yet. I think it will be alot of fun!

At our store, we had a pin meet in the food court last week just after the store opened. We met lots of people and we will be getting together kind of impromptu on Saturday mornings. Are any other areas doing something like this?

We have not received any word re: pin trading in my area. Are you sure that it includes all stores?

My mom went to the Lehigh Valley Mall meet last night. No one else was there at the time, but apparently one other person was there and gone before her.

I believe I have read the same memo as Donna and it did say that 10 stores would start out the trading, but all stores would be trading around mid -October HOWEVER, I haven't seen any more memos with further info.... so who knows!? Donna, have you read any updates?

Eeyore64, that's why I was wondering about it. Of course, we could receive a "last minute" MIB or something. It wouldn't be the first time!

No, i have not read any updates. I've already had a few offers to trade and had to say no. Or some guest will want to BUY the pin i have on my lanyard and we're not allowed to sell since they've been MOS'd. Last i heard from my SM was mid-october which is soon!

I can really see where CM's wearing lanyards NOW is really confusing to customers. -- esp those who know little about pin trading. It seems puzzling (to me) that CM's wear them while they cannot trade or sell them. You would think that TDS would at least be selling the lanyards.
Wouldn't it be great if they came out with various pin trading sets for TDS like they had the Mickey/Minnie for $25 at WDW? (And make enough of them so they are not difficult to buy!)
Sigh... I'm just dreamin' again.
