Hi,

I heard that the Disney Store in England have started doing pin trading with members of staff wearing lanyards. Does anyone know if this is going on in either stores in London as i am going tomorrow and would love to know.

I don't know for a fact, but if they are doing it in smaller towns like Blackpool, I'm sure they will be doing it in London. I would pop the Lanyard in your bag with your swaps on and whip it out if they are. Le us know how you got on. It all sounds so exiting, being able to pin trade in England.

It seems to depend on the store: though the plan is to roll out the pin trading to all stores soon I think (as I recall hearing from the other thread on the UK community forum)

I went to Thurrock Lakeside Disney Store on Sunday and they were in full swing on trading. They had Disney Store lanyards and already had a few trades that day by the time I showed up.

I think the store Lanyards are normally all UK pins, though you can trade for any pins they previously got traded in too. I traded my common WDW 2000 pin and Nifty Ninties Mickey + Minnie for a UK exclusive Tinkerbell Pin and Stitch in hawaiian shirt.

Though they had hidden away the pins in their store a little. A shame really. The Cambridge store isnt trading yet, but the pin board is clear for all to see!

I believe that most stores are in the process of setting up trading if they're not doing so already. I would recommend ringing them before going. I can't see London being left out though to be fair with the amount of tourists around that could be potential pin collectors visiting their stores.

Thats a shame DW and I were planing on poping into the Cambridge store on Saturday to do some Pin trades.

Well to be honest I didn't ask: but CM's at the store were not wearing lanyards so that makes me believe that it hasn't started yet at least. If you want I could go back in tomorrow and check?

That said its looking like there's more reasons to check the store now. They've started to get in some adult t-shirts (finally adult merch hurrah!) and I keep seeing little leaflets about which are interesting. We got free tickets to a preview of Race to Witch Mountain last month (this week they have Kids go free coupons for the cineworld for same film and Earth Day compos)

(also nice to see another Cambridge type person about here!)

we also visit Cambridge on a regular basis as DS lives there. We always have a trip to the Disney Store while we are down there

This sounds great the staff in the Hull store know me already ,I will never be out of there now will pop our pins in my bag next time we go just in case

DW and I went into the Cambridge Store on Sunday on our way to see Race to Witch Mountain. We bought some new Pins (Stitch with guitar for DW and a Nemo for me) and we asked the CM's were they trading here yet? As if by magic the CM brought out two trading lanyards that were locked away in a draw under the till.

Apparently you can Pin trade in Cambidge :cool1: if you don't see any of the CM's wearing a lanyard just ask them and they will go an get them.

When i went into my local disney store (metrocentre) i got handed a leaflet called 'pinformation' which explaned pin trading in UK stores
very helpfull leaflet
:)

Thanks Jonjo, actually we did trade there on Saturday! We phoned on Saturday morning to check if they were trading and they were, so off we went! A CM was wearing one of the lanyards so we did a couple of trades off that, then she went and got the other one and we traded off that one too :cool1:
