I have never done pin trading before and I might this trip.

Why do you do it or not do it? Is it fun or just a silly merchandise campaign?

Do you feel uncomfortable going up to a CM to pin trade? I think I might.

Do you feel silly wearing a lanyard? Do you carry your pins on anything but a lanyard as I am trying to think of different ideas.

THANKS!

It's a lot of fun, and you won't feel strange approaching a Cast Member to trade. Just remember to be polite and you will find that a lot of them really enjoy it.

You might want to go to the Collectors Board forum on here to get more information. My family has been pin trading since it began and we still enjoy it! :cool1:

I love pin trading! I do it for fun, but be warned- it can be addicting and thus get VERY expensive. I don't feel uncomfortable going up to CMs- most of the time they have great pins on their lanyards. I don't wear a lanyard- I keep my pins in one of the pin books. That is because I have so many.

This is the problem we have. When we last went for DD's 6th birthday, we got a lanyard and 2 pins with our package. We then bought some princess pins. She wanted to trade, but didn't want to trade the ones she had. She finally decided to trade the Chip and Dale for one she really liked. She wants to trade this October, but still doesn't want to trade the ones she has!!! :sad2: Is there a way to get extras or ones that she'll be more apt to trade?

DW & I bought our nephews pins that we knew they wouldn't want, like princess type pins. They were more willing to trade to get rid of the "girl pins" and get the "cool" pins for boys like Buzz Lightyear, Captain Hook, etc. I would suggest doing the same with your DD - get her some pins that you are pretty sure she wouldn't like and that she'll be more likely to trade.

Do you shop on ebay at all? You could buy a 'lot' of multiple pins that are any random theme and let her trade those, since youll get them for cheaper and they wont be particularly the ones she likes. this is what i am thinking of doing.

Those are both great ideas, thank you. I did buy one pin that was $3 and it's some kind of witch type woman, none that I can ever remember seeing in the movies. I bought it at our resort on our last morning as I was buying a couple more for her birthday (that day). That will give her a start and then I'll try Ebay too.
