Hi

I am a new pin trader.. I would like to get my almost 4 yr old into pin trading on our trip coming up.. I am so confused to see all the info.. what happens if we get sedesma pins or propins.. how do I know if its a real Disney pin...

Where can I get reasonable price pins like just a few for her to trade while I am there..

thanks for any info.

Depends on what you think of as reasonable. Try DisneyDirect.com. Maybe buy a pin set on sale and use the individual pins. You can do this as long as they are not part of a group like 4 pins spelling out 2005.

I have been checking ebay. They usually say if they are stamped disney. You can always email them and ask before you bid on them.

Pin trading is great for kids, and adults too!!! I started for my son when he was two, (almost eight now.)

Do you have a pin trading lanyard yet? They are sold as sets with pins to trade and pins to keep, or as just a lanyard. Most children enjoy wearing them to display their pins.

You can order the lanyard, and ,or pins through Disney (regular price) or you can try ebay. I have purchased quite a few this way, and can recommend some honest, reliable sellers if you are interested.

Dizpins is a great website all about the magic of pin trading. (www.dizpins.com)

I hope this helps, if you need more specifics just ask!!!

Good Luck

Sedesma and Propins are Disney-authorized and tradable. Thing is, they're also pretty common and many of the lanyards have them.

I agree with willis. If there's any question in your mind about the pins in the auction, e-mail the seller and ask questions. If they don't list the Pinpics numbers in the auction description, ask about that as well.

Also, check the seller's feedback. Toolhaus.org is a great site that will search out a seller's negatives and neutrals so you can see them all together and see if there's any sort of pattern to their negs/neutrals.

Rack price at WDW starts at $6.50, IIRC. Sales at the outlets is about half that, so if you can get pins for $2-$3 per pin that's a good deal.
