PIN question

Do you need to be booked for a trip to get a PIN or just registered in Disney's system? How soon do they send them out before their eligible date. We're going Jan 2-7, a blackout period for free dining. How early would they send a PIN for that time if I'm that lucky?

You just need to be registered and have had signed up to receive offers. Disney usually sends pins out in waves but there seems to be no rhyme or reason. I got my only pins after we paid for our first trip. We haven't received another after that trip.

You just need to be registered. I do not currently have a trip booked with Disney. I sent off for the DVD and registered about 4 or 5 months ago. I have received 2 pin codes in the last month or so. I got both an email from Disney Destinations and a postcard in the mail.
