So far much better than the MGM pin event.
No wait to ennter. BIG PLUS over an hoir and half wait at MGM in the hot sun! :crazy2:
Bathrooms are available, as is water and lemonade.
The only thing they have not learned a lesson on is the trade board. For something so cheap to do too.
There have been a few games, but we really didn't pay much attention to those. One was going on as we were entering. I know they had some kid's games too. And probably more I am not aware of.
Trade boards: Two boards, one location, one line. Plan on an hour wait.
They are allowing two traders back at a time, two minutes each on both boards.
We went thrugh once and it took probably an hour. And like the MGM pin event, nothing even worth mentioning. Guests would be better off just trading on their own between themselves.

There was a table shortage and we started to head out into the hall just for someplace to sit. Then did bring more out tables. But with what little we had, we checked out our merchandise while standing in the pin bpard line, and still had LOTS of time to spare. :p
After the first time I dion't borther with a second. I wasted too much time on so-so boards at MGM.

The lines were not long for artist signing. I wish they had signage showing what artists designed and were signing what pins. There was a CM with one list to read from. That was it. So that was more unorganzied than MGM.

Other than the pin boards, so far so good.
I Love the Pin Bag. Very cool. And the give away pins --- I was so happy I got two L&S! :) One for me and one for Blaine's sponsor!

And the Jumbo Lion King pin is TRULY JUMBO. That needs to be framed itself! Very cool pin! :)

We came back home to feed the animals and let them out. We are heading back soon. And we were told we can drive direct to AK.

And I want to add -- I was glad I did not buy Pin 30090: Adventures in Pin Trading Event - Shadowbox Tiki Pin Set. It just did not look worth the money to me.

I ordered and paid for Pin 30832: AK Adventures in Pin Trading - Box Set #2 ( African Inspired Character Masks). But they were not in yet. :(

But how are the Artist Choice pins? Those are the ones I am going to have to try and collect and I want to hear everyone's opinion on their quality.

Jeff

I have a few of those. Alll the pins seem to be a very good quality. Both in design and make. The Goofy as a warrior does not show up as much as I thought it would. But still a nice pin. VERY thick, due to the backing (torch light).

This one is not an AC pin -- Pin 30816: AK Adventures in Pin Trading - Rafiki and Simba.
But while I was having # 30816 signed by the artist Jeff Ebersoll (sp) two other artists were asking him how he had the backing made. You would have to see it to know it is not the norm.
He just said he asked for that!. ;)
I think the other two were impressed and we may see more of this style. ;)
The orange background seems to be plastic. I don't know why this medium was used.
three layers of pin, including the moving arm.

The Goofy with the Ostriches I wish was a little larger. But good detailing.
I also have the Goofy with Tiger AC pin. Again, that could have been larger. Too much emphasis on the AC tools logo, and not the characters. The artist Randy Noble was not there to sign his items.
