Hello all,

I've never done a cruise before, let alone a Disney Cruise, and I was wondering if someone on here could shed a little light on a few things for us. We paid for the bus transfers (we're doing the 7 day combo, with the Pin Cruise), which amount to 3 bus rides. However, we are booking our own airfare, since Disney never seems to find the deals that I do on my own. How does it work with the bus transportation at MCO, going to the Polynesian? Do we have to let them know in advance our flight times , or do busses run at set intervals? I'm worried that if they are using a large bus, and we arrive while one is relatively empty, will we be stuck waiting for an hour or two until they have enough people on the bus ? Also, how does it work at the hotel the cruise day? Again, I'm worried that we might end up spending a huge amount of time on the bus, waiting for others, or making multiple stops. I'm kind of leaning towards dumping the transfers, and just renting a car for the week.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks, and take care,

Bill

Hi Bill,

The buses run pretty quickly actually, they fill up fast and take off. If you have the land/sea package with transfers then DCL gets your bags and transfers them for you and you meet the DCL rep in the airport and are escorted to the bus loading area.

From the Polynesian to the port busses will start loading in the late morning (check with DCL for the exact time) and it's a dedicated bus to the port...you won't stop anywhere else. Again, they load up pretty quickly and get moving, you won't wait long.

For bus transfers back to the port after the cruise you can check your bags at the port if you are flying on one of the airlines that offers this and then just hop on a bus. If you're not on an airline that has port check-in then your bags are loaded with you on the bus. And this is pretty fast too, you may wait 15-20 minutes to fill a bus but then you're off.

The bus transfers really are pretty convienent, but if it stresses you out you can always drop them and do the rental car, as you suggested.

Enjoy your cruise! :)

Hello,

Thanks for the response. That sounds fine. I was worried it would be either like Mears, where you might stop at three or four resorts and end up spending an extra hour in a bus, or else spend an hour or two sitting at the airport waiting for the bus to fill up. As long as it's like you described, it doesn't sound bad at all.

Thanks, and take care,

Bill
