Pin collecting question

How do collectors know what pins they want or are missing from their collections? Is there a pin collectors guide or book or website? My DD has a good start to her collection, but I would like to see what pins she is missing from the different sets she has.

You can use PinPics.com to find out about which pins have been released. For the Hidden Mickey pin, you can look at the checklists issued by Disney.
