Although i have bought a few Disney pins throughout my visits over the years, I have never actually been a collector. I think now I would enjoy collecting different ones so I have a few questions.

Where can you purchase Disney lanyards? I would like to get one for me as well for as my daughter with the plastic pouch at the end attached for ID cards?

Where can you purchase Disney quality pins outside of the parks?

What do you all do with the pins if you don't wish to trade them? Do you display them somehow in your home, etc

Thanks in advance. Any tips you can give will help.

I have purchased pins in lots from e-bay for two trips. It is very reasonable and you then actually want to trade them! Well, most of them anyway! We find that when we purchase pins in the park we really don't want to trade them, so having a supply when we get there is just perfect.

Be careful on e-bay that you purchase official disney pins (not sedesma and other non-official pins) and that the seller's feedback is positive. Also, pay attention to the shipping charges and if the seller has several lots for sale, try to get several of them as the shipping charges are usually reduced for subsequent lots.

I've done really well doing this and it adds to the excitement prior to the trip. I will warn you, though, that e-bay can be a bit addictive if you let yourself get carried away. Always try to have a maximum price in mind and stick to it!

The lanyards can be purchased at Disney stores and I'm hearing that there are great sales on right now. You can also purchase them from the online Disney store. E-bay sellers will sell lanyards as well, sometimes with pin sets.

We display our pins on a bulletin board that has a nice black frame with three picture openings (4x6) on the bottom of it. We look at them all the time and enjoy the pictures too! :goodvibes

The Disney stores in the mall sometimes have pins. The Disney online store is a great place too; sometimes they have great sales such as 50% off or free shipping.
Also if you get the chance there is a Pin Store in Down Town Disney. They have starter kits and collecting supplies, such as pin books to hold your collections. Sometimes they have a special when you spend over a certain amount you can buy a mystery pin for a dollar. The mystery pins are great for trading as they aren't always that great.
