Pin Codes

How do you get pin codes? Every seems to get them emailed to them. So how do i get one? thank you!!!!

Everyone will tell you to sign up for all the websites or Disney related things you can(send for the DVD, etc.) and I have gotten two different PINs this year--or so I thought!?! After booking our December vacation during one of the blackout times(because I got some good airfare) I had read on here about calling and asking if any PINs were assigned to me. Imagine my reaction this morning when she said, "Why, yes, it looks like you have the Free Dining PIN!!!" WHAT?!? After I have been wracking my brain with these discounts and offers?!? It seems that I have this which expires October 6 and I never got an email or snail mail about it! So THANK YOU, DISBoards!! I am making my ADRs as we speak!

I spoke with a CM earlier this week, and she told me that there really isn't any one particular way to get a PIN. WDW's marketing group gets together about once a week and targets specific demographics to receive PINs, but it can be different every time. They might focus PINs on a certain geographic region, or families with young children, or families with teenagers, or adult couples without kids at all. Sometimes, they'll send PINs to folks who haven't visited in a long time. Other times, they'll issue PINs to folks who visit frequently. It's pretty hard to predict.

She did say that signing up on their website or requesting a vacation planning DVD will get you on their radar... but from that point forward, a lot of it is a matter of luck. Just don't throw out any Disney Destinations emails or postcards until you read them carefully first - that's usually how you'd be notified of receiving a PIN.

We moved our dates for FD in 2011 too and was wondering if anyone had an answer to this question:

If I have FD through the special offer, is it possible to get a pin code for free dining so we could move our vacation back to it's original dates? Or does having FD already cancel out any FD pin code I might be eligible for in the future?

We are booked with a pin code this year for the first time. The last 2 years I have booked a trip over thansgiving well before the 6 month dining window. This year we decided to put off the trip until March 2011 becuase we had a lot going on. well, me who has never got a pin code, ever, started getting every one that came out and it made me sick that we couldn't use them. Well, we go back to achool, and my boss is less than thrild about me taknig 2 days off in March to go over Mardi Gras. Fd comes out and we have to moove our dates to get it, which means we lose a park day and are really rushed traveling. So, we look at the buget and decide that going over Thanksgiving with a FD pin makes more sense. we get back the lost time, don't have to rush, and it is only $100 difference in price. So yes, you can use a pin code after booking the GP FD offer.
