Pin codes only for value resorts?

When you get a PIN code, are they only for value or moderate resorts? Has anyone received a PIN code for a deluxe that's also good for peak travel season?

PIN codes are usually available at a variety of levels of resorts but not always at every resort at that level.

For example, at the Deluxe Level, they might only offer Contemporary and WL or something like that. Depends on how bookings are going.

PIN codes during peak travel periods almost NEVER happen. What you more likely see is PIN codes around the peak travel periods.

For example there have been a couple of PIN offers for the December 9 to 18 or December 9 to 21st timeframe. I travelled this year on a PIN code the week of Feb 26 to March 03. That was just between busy periods.. and it wasn't particularly busy when I was there, but the day we were checking out.. there were a LOT of people checking in.. the March break influx had begun.

But the whole concept of these discounts is to fill rooms they can't fill.. peak travel periods mean they usually don't have any problem filling those rooms.

The code you get for a Value resort is also good for a Moderate or a Deluxe resort. I used a Value code 2 years ago to get 40% off of AKL and the CM said the code is good for Values, Moderates and Deluxes. Everyone assumes it's only for Values because the offers come with the Values printed on them at such a low rate which entices people to book rooms at such a great rate which are usually around $60 bux or so.

So, the hopes for any kind of discount during, say, the week after Easter is pretty far-fetched? Meaning, I'll be paying full price for everything?
