Pin Codes attached to your name

Does this still happen??? When you call CRO do you still ask if there is a pin attached to your name? If not, how does receiving the Pin Codes work?
 
Just call and ask if there are any codes attached to your name, I had one attached once but couldn't use it ! Of course now that I need it, I don't have one ;)
 
Thanks...I was wondering if this is how it still worked? Last year we stayed at the Swan so, I didn't keep up with the Disney Discounts...
 
I was never lucky enough to get a pin code in the mail box or in e-mail, or if I did, I never knew about it !! that's why whenever I plan a trip, I always call and ask if there might be a pin number attached ! Good luck !!
 

I just called the other day and found I had to be pushy about it. I asked from the get go and had a CM keep asking me if I wanted to go ahead and hold the ressie - before she even checked!! I asked if she checked for any pin codes and she replied that before she did, should she proceed in holding my reservation?! So, I asked her if she was familiar with what I was talking about because she kept wanting to book the reservation before checking and of course if I had a code attached to my name, the ressie would be less. :confused3

I was wondering if maybe they don't exist anymore and she was just trying to save time. :rolleyes:

Were you booking a room only or a MYW package? When I booked my package I asked what would happen if a discount code came out or if I received an email with a pin (I have gotten many - never when I can use them though!). She said that I could call and apply a general discount code to my ressie if one comes out, but she said that the Pin code emails are only for room only ressies. I am not sure if that was true in the past. I thought that I received a pin for a package last year :confused:
 
I just called and asked about pin codes. I have never seen mail/email from disney regarding such. I did not give any travel info just asked straight away about the code. I'm trying to decide between Disney and another vacation. We were given a christmas gift that would go well towards paying for this, but considering that maybe we should do the less expensive vacation and save the rest. But hey right now we have nearly all the money in hand. So anyway I called and he said no pincodes the last one i had expired in dec. Ugh if only I had called sooner. Probably wouldnt have been good for my dates anyway. However atleast now I know I am really in their system. Woo Hoo I do receive postcards. I hadnt wanted to call till I knew one way or another what we wanted to do Cause if i had a good discount finagler on the phone and couldnt committ (This happened last year and he actually called my hubbie for me so that i didnt have to get off the phone and get someone else when I called back).

ANYWAY more to the point......after he told me no he told me to hold on a minute and i heard a bunch of keyboard tapping and after a couple of minutes he said there arent even any pin codes that are available to be booked right now and he was very sorry he but he couldnt find anything for me...did i perhaps have AAA... Oh well I tried and I'll keep trying till I definitely choose one or the other. But that doesnt mean there isnt a whole new set of pin code e'mails going out soon....lets cross fingers.
 
My friend told me that if you request the vacation planning kit that on the mailing label there is a pin code....does anyone know this to be true? I had already ordered the kit but had thrown the packaging away....when I called (after the ressie was made) and said I had code on the package and had thrown it out, could it still be appled?...The CM was very vague about it and would not admit that there was one, just said that if I found it to call back with it, but she had no idea about it.....I was annoyed.
 
ha ha! i just got mine today there are all kinds of unexplained numbers and letters? Wish I knew what I was looking for!?

I just thru 2 out-vacation planning CD's. Darn.

Yes ! I do this all the time! just call and tell them you're interested in staying on site and you would like to know if there are any discount codes attached to your name!


Whoever mentioned about the planning video/dvd.... that is a really good possibility !! I had ordered a new tape a couple of months before my last call and there was a pin attached, I wonder if it was from that !??! does anyone have any knowledge of this ???? :confused3

I called yesterday to see if anything was attached for discounts in July. She said nothing has been released for that far in advance. She wasn't overly helpful. I asked if she could look anyway just to make sure and after 15 minutes or so she said "nope" and that was the end of our conversation.
 
Call and ask Central Reservations if you have a pin code attached to your name. We did and we had one and we got about 30% off the room rate. Good Luck
 
I was told the same thing this morning - there are no pin codes out right now for discounts at all. Since this is the second CM that has said this, it makes me think it might be true.

So, no pin codes, no room-only discounts, no AP discounts past 4/13, arrgggh! They're really killing me over here! I don't mind paying rack, but geez, I have been there 3 times in the last 15 months and have an AP that I am renewing, you would think they would throw me a bone! :confused3
 
Again, I threw mine out....but according to my friend...it had a letter and a couple of numbers??? I don't know if that helps anyone....maybe - she just had one attached to her name for ordering the dvd....and she was mistaken...I don't know. I was hoping someone else knew.
 
I hope they release something soon. If I don't get a discount I won't be going. I can't stand paying full price for a hotel room!!!
