I have a PIN code question (forgive me please, as I am VERY unfamiliar with Disney pin code use). If I receive an email with a pin code, is it transferrable to another person? Could I give the code to someone else to use, or does the reservation have to be booked in my name? For example, if I give the code to my sister for when she joins us on our trip (we are DVC members so a code is of no use to us) does the ressie have to be in my name and do I have to be present when she checks in?

Please try not to flame me guys, ok?! :confused3

I don't believe you can book the room for your sister, without booking a room for yourself. In other words, you use the code for yourself, plus you can book 2 additional rooms on the same code. Each room is in a different name, but the ressies are linked together.

Is there a way you could save your DVC points, or maybe even sell them, and then you can use the PIN as well? I'm not real familiar with how DVC works, so forgive me if I'm making crazy suggestions! :rotfl:

PINs are not transferrable... to answer another one of your questions (just in case I wasn't very clear in the first comments about how to use it for your sister).

Pincodes are person specific and NON-transferable. The only way you can let your sister use it is to book her room , but you need to be the one on the ressie and doing the checking in

Yes, I have used other peoples pin codes and others have used pin codes I've gotten. These were the 3 letter pin codes. It might have changed. I have also recently received a 10ish digit pin code for free dining for dates up to Dec. in a friends name. When I called about it they gave me a hard time though. I told them the truth, that I bought a friend something from Disneyshopping about a year ago and the email (my 1st initial & last name) was mine. He put me on hold and came back with good news. Going in Sept.

I'm confused, you had to fight to get free dining for September? It's available to the general public! Or is the pin code somehow better?

The 3 letter codes aren't actual PIN codes - they are discount codes.

The actual 10 digit/letter PIN codes are actually not transferable and are only available to the person who's name is attached to the PIN code. Hopefully you won't have any problems checking in with your free dining PIN.

3 letter codes arent pins. Every Disney res EVER has had a 3 letter code. Pins are 15 digits and you can not use someone elses nor can someone else use yours

Sorry, that's how I thought it happened. It's been a couple of years. I booked this trip in June. I didn't know there was free dining to everyone, I mean , that's great.
