Aaaarghhhh... I got a PIN Code email.... without the PIN! The email was from Disneyland Destinations and this is what it says:

"We’re so excited you’re thinking about another stay [huh? We've never stayed there before, but I did save an offer for each hotel] at Disney’s Paradise Pier® Hotel, where you can dive into more fun in the rooftop pool and water slide, have breakfast with some Disney Characters, play in the arcade and more!

Click above to check out the Resort photos we picked just for you.

Book now to complete your vacation plans or to view other dates and accommodations."

On the side it then says:

"Here are your vacation plans:

Arrival: 12/13/2011
Departure: 12/17/2011
Resort: Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel
Adults: 3 [I don't know where they got 3 adults from, that's not what the saved offer was for]
Children (3–17): 2

Call 866-291-0983

And then this is the KICKER:
"or your Travel Agent to book by ! [it's BLANK!]

Be sure to mention your PIN:" [BLANK AGAIN!]

There is a "Resort Offer" section underneath, which says:

"Resort Offer
Stay in the middle of the magic with rates starting from:

US $315* per night in a standard room
at Disney's Paradise Pier® Hotel

US $365* per night in a standard room
at Disneyland® Hotel

US $510* per night in a standard room
at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa

Ask about other dates, accommodations and vacation packages when you call!

Valid for arrivals most nights 12/2/11-12/3/11 and 12/16/11-12/31/11.

*Excludes Resort fees and taxes. Other room rates and other Hotel rates will vary. Subject to restrictions and change without notice."

These are not deals. When I follow the link, it has the same info.

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

I got that too!!!! I think they jsut send those out to confirm that you saved a quote....hoping this is not seen as a deal, because I would then most definately need to stay as BWPPI!

I got one of those. Problem is I already booked and paid in full a good neighbor hotel package through Disney Travel at Disneyland. The email was for the same dates at Disney World in Florida :rotfl2:

Sometimes I get the same things too. It happens after I "dummy" book a trip. I think it's because I save the offer for later but then never go back to it.

NewbieMouse & Kauinohea - that's the exact same language and wording that was in my 'Saved Offer' PIN (down to the thing about the photos they selected for me to view)...except, as you guys both know (since we already talked about it in the other thread), mine actually had a PIN code and good rates, and an expiration date!! (The PIN was in smallish print, down in the lower right-hand corner of the offer.)

I don't know what happened with the offers you guys got! It's like they pulled the wording from the actual PIN code offers, but gave you rack rates! It almost seems like a mistake, in a weird way, doesn't it?

Also, the one that usedmedia (another DIS'er) received was just like mine - with an actual PIN and actual good rates and actiual dates.

Oh, by the way - my offer said 3 adults too! And I never selected 3 adults!:rotfl2:

Well, they may still send you another offer as more time passes.

Here's what I would do - call the phone number that is on the PIN (and you can also call the number that's on my PIN, which I think may be different), give them your name and tell them you got a PIN code offer that is "missing some important information." Tell them what's missing (PIN, dates, etc.) or incorrect (3 adults). What will happen next is they will pull up your name and check for any offers attached to your name that are stored in the system. These could be offers that they have to search for, like they did when I got my PIN last year. They didn't see my offer right away, and then they poked around and found it in their system.

When they pull up your info to find your offer, THEN you say, "This offer mentions a PIN code. The rates I was offered don't seem like PIN code rates - are these prices correct? They seem too high."

And see what they come up with! Good luck!

I tried calling, and didn't really get anywhere. They said that it could have been erroneously generated by the system based on the saved offer. She could find me in the system, but not with any offers attached. She said that the fact it generated the dates almost made it sound like a confirmation email, be she said there is no reservation under my name, so it must have been a system error. I want that PIN code so badly.....Grrrr.

I guess I'll just keep hoping that one comes through. I did go in and delete the offers that weren't for GCH, as that's the only one I really want.

Worst case scenario, just let the current Saved Offer run its course and expire, then save another one for the GCH. It can't hurt! When more time passes - we are only in June, after all - you may get the 'real' offer. It will look exactly like the e-mail you already got - exactly like it - except with a PIN and good rates! (It always helps to have the actual PIN and good rates!:rotfl2:) It could be that their system is thinking, "Eh...there's still plenty of time for her to book at the regular rates...we'll wait a while before rolling out the good offers!"

Enough people have tried the Saved Offer trick and gotten great PIN rates from it to know it is still effective and still worth holding out hope for. If no one had gotten a PIN this year, I would have assumed it was a one-time only deal, just for last year. But when usedmedia got a PIN last week, and I got one this week, I realized it was still working. I am guessing that people receive their offers at different times.

By the way, I forgot to mention yesterday that my PIN code and good rates are actually listed in the Resort Offers part of the e-mail, in the bottom right section - both in the one I got a couple of days ago and the one I got last year. So there is no PIN in the space where it says "Be sure to mention your PIN," but there is supposed to be a PIN in small print under Resort Offers at the very bottom, and that's the one I mentioned to DLR when I called and booked last year. It's almost like they sneak the PIN code in there so some people may not see it!

Clearly something went awry with the e-mail you got (and Kauinohea and whomever else got an offer with the same wording) - solely based on the fact that they are addressing you as though you had stayed onsite before. "We’re so excited you’re thinking about another stay at Disney’s Paradise Pier® Hotel.":confused3 That makes no sense! That's the wording in my PIN code e-mail, but I have stayed onsite before!:rotfl2: Also, the fact that they are referencing a PIN code when there is no PIN makes it seem like it was a mistake.

It's almost kind of like the DLR reservations system just spewed out some botched 'offers' (which aren't really deals at all) and didn't recognize who had actually stayed onsite in the past and who had not.

Oh well, as I said...it's still early yet. There is still hope!:goodvibes

Oh, and for the record (just because the hotel mentioned in your offer is the PPH), I am the biggest 'stay onsite' advocate and I love all 3 DLR hotels, including PPH, but there is NO way I think the PPH is worth $315.:scared1: I don't even think it's worth $215. There is just not enough to the property to warrant that price.

Now, $99 is a great rate for the PPH. And $163 is good - but it's only good considering the fact that the regular rack rates are over $300!:scared1: $163 seems downright cheap to me when I think of what the cost could be, but there are other people who would never even pay $163 to stay onsite, let alone at the PPH.

If you're someone who wants to spend $315 to stay at the PPH, I think that once you get into that 'over $300' price range you may as well spend the extra $50 per night and stay at the DLH! That makes more sense to me! The PPH should be substantially, significantly cheaper than the DLH - not only $50 or $30 or $20 cheaper!

I also do not think the standard GCH rooms are in any way worth over $500.:scared1: I like the GCH. I can see how it is much more resort-ish than the PPH to most people. I love the location of it. But the actual standard rooms at the GCH are not worth $500+, in my opinion. $247 would be a decent rate for the GCH. $215 would be a great GCH rate. But, again, it's all relative because the regular rack rates are so sky high!:scared1::faint:

I agree, $500 for a night at the GCH is craziness. :crazy2: I think the PPH warrants $150, the DLH up to $200, and the GCH up to $300 tops.
