pin code discount dilemma

ok we got a pin code discount 40%... I can't figure out if we should still book with our dvc points for December or use pin code discount. What are the ins and outs? I guess I should watch what I wish for because I said the other day boo hoo... I never got a pin code.

I thought one of the main reasons one buys DVC is to have deluxe accommodations already paid for. Why would you now want to pay EXTRA for that?
