I have heard so much about pin codes and how you can get a great discount. Well I actually got one in the mail yesterday, and all it amounts to is an upgraded ticket-- basically free hopping and water parks. Now I appreciate the upgrade, but that is offered frequently at different times just on the website. I was hoping for a resort discount and I am disappointed. Thanks for listening!

that's okay, today I called to check ressies and the CM told me I had a pin! I never received an email or a snail mail but I just went with it because I have heard of that happening for other people...She quoted me 6 dollars MORE then the disney ressie website did for the same exact package :confused3 ! LOL

I don't know but I feel like I was being had...

It was probably the "ticket upgrade" and she quoted it with trip insurance....

Yeah that's what I thought but she said it was just a BASE ticket, maybe I will call back and see what another CM says...

Same thing happened to me today. I got a postcard in the mail, but it was just for the free park hopper package, not the 40% off. It was also sent to our address, but addressed to my mother. Not a big deal, since my parents usually go with us, but since my DH and I usually do all the ressies, I think it might make it difficult if we wanted to use the PIN (Which I don't think we do since it expires on 6/2 and I don't think we will go before 6/3.).

You may want to call back and ask what dates the pin is valid. I had the same thing happen today when I called. The CM said that I had a pin code attached to my name and she could get me a great rate. When she gave me the price, it was exactly the same as the website for a room only. After a few minutes of convincing her that there was no discount in her quote, she went to see a supervisor. She came back and told me that the pin wasn't available for my dates. I changed the dates and she came back with an outstanding price.

That free upgrade is better than you think. I received the same discount and thought that you did that it wasn't that great. But then I did a spreadsheet I love spreadsheets). I calculated the total cost of room, food and tix of our trip using the free upgrade, using the AAA discount or buying an AP and getting a room discount. I was only concerned for this year's trip since we may not make it back next year. I priced out value, moderate and all the deluxe resorts. You know what happened? For each resort category, the free ticket upgrade came out the cheapest. So, we utilized the pin code.

The details of our stay were only three nights at the resort and then we're renting points and moving to a DVC resort. If we were staying at the resort for more nights, than we may have had a different outcome. For us, the pin code was definately the cheapest.

Sounds like you got the same postcard I got. We've already booked the package deal that came out awhile back - includes the base ticket with free parkhopper & waterpark upgrades along with a small discount on the room. The postcard I got is for 4/15 - 6/2 and is the same deal only without a discount on the room. Needless to say I kept what I had as the new "deal" would have cost me about $120 more.
