PIN code at check in?

I got a postcard in the mail with a code and used it today to change my reservation from the Swan to WL. ($120/night, woods view!!) I was reading some posts and I saw something said about having this # with you when you check in....I'm sure I'll bring it just in case, but does anyone know...do you really need it?

I'd like to know too as I have an email with a PIN and wasn't even considering having that in my paperwork to take since I gave it to the CM when I made the reservations with WDTC.

I would bring it with...what if you don't..and you end up getting charged rack rate upon check in because you can't prove you had the postcard...that could definately ruin a vacation!

If the card says to bring it with you I would. They may not ask but if they did you will be prepared.

The pin code is tied to your ressie once you make the ressie. If your name is different from the postcard (remarriage, came in kids name, etc) you need it, otherwise you don't. They already have the code (which you gave when you made your ressie) in the computer..and it has yoru name on it..which is why no one else can use it.

This is what happened to me in January 2004. I had booked WL with AAA discount for 199.00 per night. Then someone on this board posted a three letter code from their postcard. I called and re-booked at 120.00. I figured that if they asked for the actual post card at check in, I have to pay the 199.00, but it was worth a shot right?
Well we checked in, and the post card was never mentioned. They even upgraded us! So we had woods view for 120.00 per night. I think that was a pretty good deal.
