I am looking to make my daughter a pin book out of a binder and sheets that hold cards. She is new to pin collecting and do not want to spend tons on a real book from Disney until I know she is sticking with it. I was wondering if any of the awesome Designers on here had a 8x10 sheet that could be adapted to this. I know there are authograph book covers out there, but they are only 4x6. I needs something I can slide into the cover of the binder. Maybe with the castle or the four parks or something...

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Her name is Kaitlyn and she loves anything disney... princess, castle, mickey... she really isn't too picky!

Thanks!

Kate

At Hobby Lobby you can buy very stiff felt sheets in the craft area, where the regular felt sheets are. These are longer and a little more expensive. just cut them to fit. I folded them in half and sewed velcro down the center and created several pages and it is sturdy enough to hold my pins in side of a zippered bag kind of like a Bible/book cover. Actually its a craft bag that had velcro already in the center to hold pages but it's made like a book cover only bigger with more pockets and a carrying strap.

I can make her a pin trading logo like these. Just let me know what character and I can have it in a few days.

They were originally for signatures but can be adapted for just about anything. I've made them big enough for t-shirts, binders etc.

Oh, just found these and love them. I am going to have a go at making pin bags as ours are too small!

Is there any chance you could do me 3 of the patches I can then do as an iron on?

one with Stitch, and the name would be Izzy

one with Chip and Dale, and the name would be Dom

one with Mickey, and the name would be Jody

Thanks so much if you can help.

Just an idea for you for making the pin book. If you are going to put it in a 3 ring binder...you might consider one with a zipper so that you can zip it up and not worry about loosing any of the pins inside. Meade has a lot of great binders.

Another great idea is to get the trading card pages as they have around nine pockets per page. I think you can get around 20-25 pages in a set at Wal-mart where they sell trading cards for around $8. Then you can cut the felt to fit inside each pocket. As you get pins you can pin them to the felt and slide inside each pocket for a clear view of the pin.

I think it is a great idea and need to make one for all of my pins!

I'll work on them over the weekend. Things are going to be a little hairy the next couple of days.

lifeafterkids: just so you know, not all autograph covers are 4 x 6. I, for one, do whatever size someone asks for. Most are 5 x 7 but I have done 3 x 3, 4 x 6, 8 x 8, 8 x 10, etc.

(if you ever want an autograph cover)

Just wanted to add that we also use big 2 inch notebooks for our pins. We bought regular notebooks, but bought pin pages at Disney to go in them. They are plastic like (thick) with one side that is "felty" and a plastic page to go between each page (to prevent pins rubbing together?) When we bought ours they came with 5 pages and 5 dividers for 9.95.
