For the past 5 years I have been sleeping on a reversible memory foam/regular on the flip side pillow. Until recently I have been happy but lately it has become hard and I am not sleeping well
Do you have a pillow that you love?

Background I have tried straight memory foam as a mattress and I got too hot in that well known brand. I am looking for someone with memory foam + gel experience. One product I am eyeing is
Sleep Innovations Cool Contour Memory Foam Pillow
Anyone tried one??

I don't have any experience with the kind of pillow you are using, but the best pillows I have ever used are the ones at Walt Disney World. They were called Beyond Nature by Carpenter and they are now sold as Beyond Down by Carpenter. I have found them on sale at Belk before, but I don't know if they still carry them. Now that both of my daughters have moved away and taken theirs I am going to get a few more to have as spares for guests, etc. They are excellent pillows!!

After 5 years, it's probably worn out. If you've loved it up until now, why not just replace it with another of the same type?

I use a contour foam pillow (you flip it one way if you are sleeping on your side, and another way if you are sleeping on your back). I find that I need to replace it about every 2-3 years because it the foam gets compacted eventually.

I have read that the pillow you mentioned is an excellent one especially if you get hot at night. My pillow of choice and I could not live without them are latex pillows. They are perfect for me and last forever.

I love my latex mattress. I live in FL and yes I get hot at night

I have a latex matress too that I love too. My husband is hot blooded and never felt our latex matress makes him hot. Maybe it is just the heat in Florida. lol

Buckwheat pillow!

I had issues and am the pillow queen. I'd get one LOVE it for a couple weeks and then have issues in neck and upper back. I tried memory foam, regular, tempurpedic--you name it I've tried it.

I finally read about buckwheat pillows and ordered this one:http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=14103171

It is smaller than a regular pillow, but no issue for me. They sell larger ones on Amazon but this is plenty big. I have had no issues with neck, back pain in the 4 months I have had this pillow. It conforms to your head and neck.

I have had no issues with smells or anything from day 1.

I seriously need to purchase new pillows. My problem is that I like very thin pillows. I love the feel of down but my conscience just wont let me purchase it anymore. The pillows at WDW are about 3 times too thick and give me a terrible headache.

When my children were young, I felt their pillows were way too fluffly for them. I opened the pillow, took out stuffing and sewed it back up so it was much flatter. I think you could even "slice" the solid foam kind.
