Pillowcase signing on Wonder?

mylilnikita, my family just got back on 9/23 from our 4 day sailing on the Wonder. What a great time we had!

To answer your question about the pillowcase signing. Before we left I purchased two plain pillow cases (one for DD11 and one for DS 8) and a photo mat. I put these in a ziplock baggy (I included a permanent marker) with a label that had our name and cabin information. As soon as I got on the ship I brought them right to guest services, where I was told that they would be available for pick up after 10:30PM on the last night of our sailing. Wednesday night I stopped by guest services around 10:45 pm (we were out and about shopping anyway) to pick them up and they were fantastic! My kids were so surpised and have been sleeping with them every night. There were a ton of signatures right down from Mickey and Minnie to Lilo and Stich! The photo matt fits a small picture that I picked up from Shutters perfectly!

Hope this helps! If you have any other questions feel free to PM me!

What a fun idea, DD would love that, I wonder if they will do it
our short 4 night trip on the Magic?

What do you mean about the photo mat? Is this something that
goes with the pillow?

Sorry, but I am not a very "crafty" person and am not sure what
you mean about that.

We did the same thing on our 3 night Wonder cruise last February, so I'm sure they'll do it on your 4 night. Instead of pillowcases, we used Disney shirts for the kids. They get all kinds of comments when they are worn.

We will be doing it again on the 4 night next Feb.

wintermom, the photo mat is something separate, sorry for the confusion. It's used as a border around a picture. We bought a great picture at shutter's of the kids with Minnie at CC. It's the smaller sized picture, but the mat is used with an 8 X 10 picture frame.

Hope this gives you a clearer picture (sorry for the pun)!

Thanks Faith,
You know I look at all those Mom's that do all this creative stuff
and I think Geeee... why can't I think of that!!

Oh, well, I am great with a calculator!

Hi,
We were on the 09/09/04 Wonder cruise and yes...pillowcase signing is still going on. Instead of dropping off ythe pillowcase, my dd took hers with her all the time for the just in case she runs into a character that hasn't signed it yet. We got most of our signatures when the characters posed for pictures right in front of Triton's. It was great! I got alot of "good idea" compliments from the other parents. Actually seeing the charaters sign it was cool.

We just got back from our 9-12-04 cruise. I made my daughter her pillowcase then washed it, put it in a gallon ziploc with perm markers and dropped it at guest services as soon as we got on the ship. We also picked it up on the last night and it is too cool. My DD 4 is just thrilled. Here is a pic!!

Sorry its all wrinkled she has not stopped sleeping on it. LOL

I was also on the 9-19 Wonder (with Faith: lilpooter) and intended on getting a pillowcase signed for my dd (3), but it completely slipped my mind when I was packing! I was so upset with myself for forgetting one of the most important things! So, DD did not get a signed pillowcase:( .

Don't suppose anyone going soon would be willing to drop one off for DD when they drop off their own? Of course I would cover the cost of the pillowcase & postage to get it to me after it's all said & done. Anyone willing to help would be greatly appreciated!:wave2:

I didn't know that something like this was done aboard. What a great idea. Is there anything else that us "Disney newbies" ought to know about?

Does anyone have any good sources for the iron-on pictures I have heard about?

CCRUZ - we'll be on the Wonder the same time you are! Where in SC do you live?
