pillowcase - clip board or quilt hoop??

For those that have done the autograph pillowcases......which is best for the characters to be able to write on them? I have the fabric markers, but didn't know if a clip board (which seems like the best idea) - but then I saw someone say they used a small quilting hoop?

We have done pillowcases using both the loop and a small clipboard. I think the small clipboard worked better. My daughter got alot of compliments on her pillowcase.

GREAT!!! I was thinking the board would work better, but with never having done it before I just wasn't 100% sure Do Sharpies or Fabric markers work better?

A co-worker of mine just made my DGD a beautiful embroidered (Princess cupcake and Name) pillowcase,and I'm almost afraid to get signatures on it.

we used a painting hoop. its a quilting loop with a back on it. it worked perfect. i cannot comment on which works best but we used fabric markers and I am very happy with how it turned out
