Pillow cases -- still being done?

Hi all! Another follow up to some always circulating rumors...

Can any recent cruisers update if DCL is still allowing for Pillow Case drop off at Guest Services?

Just did it on the 11/30 cruise. Had three pillowcases done. I dropped them off the first day. They said they'd be done the last day. I picked them up in the afternoon. My dd's pillowcase didn't have a "Snow White" autograph on it (her FAVORITE) so we took it with us to the final character meet in the Atrium and Snow White signed it there.

We had many comments on what a great idea it was.

we dropped off two stark white brand spanking new pillowcases to guest services the first day and picked up the last. My DDs LOVED them!!! BTW - ohiominnie - how did you wash the first time? with vinegar to "set" the colors?? or did you just wash normally?

QueenTrident, this is a way to get Character Autographs for the kids. What you do is either purchase a Disney Pillowcase or Customize a Plain one or do this with a T-Shirt. You place inside a ziploc baggie with the childs name and cabin # on the baggie. Last year I also provided multi-coloured Sharpie Permanent Markers. You drop this off at Guest Services and they will get the characters on board to sign the items. Just remember to pick it up before you leave!

It makes for a great souvie for the kids!

ohMom, I haven't washed ours yet. We actually did iron on transfers on ours with DCL pics and personalized for each kid. With the transfers come very detailed washing and drying instructions! So far no one has even dared sleep on theirs so they aren't dirty!

My kids LOVED their pillow cases. My d-neice seemed unimpressed. But then again, that was the case for the whole 2 1/2 week trip, but that's a topic for another post!!

YES!!!! We were on the Wonder on Dec. 7th and I had 3 of them done. I copied a picture of the ship with all the gang and made an iorn on transfer. Also supplied them with "perm. fabric markers". They said that they did not need them but insisted anyway. I tried different kinds of markers and most of them ran so I wanted them to use the ones I supplied. On the last night, I went by Guest Services and they had it all done for me. Even returned the pens. I did notice that they were done differently. One on them had signatures on the back and did not have all the same ones. None of them had a signature from the Pricnesses. Anyway, they turned out great and I would go for it.

What a bummer! I didn't know about this. My DD colored a disney pillowcase in the oceaneers club. You'd think they would have mentioned this? Was this posted anywhere in the personal navigators, and I missed it?

Hey maybe I could mail her pillowcase to DCL for Autographs. LOL

When we were at our character breakfast on Sunday a.m., my DS asked if a specific character would sign his hat (Disney hat just purchased at MK).

The CM who was with the character said that she would take it and have it signed by all and we would be able to pick up on Monday afternoon at guest services.

It looks great and DS was thrilled!

I didn't think they did it anymore, so I didn't bring any pillowcases. Oh well, this is so cute and he can wear it all the time!

On our recent 11/29/03 Magical Cruise I dropped off two pillowcases and two t shirts on Tuesday and they were done by Friday afternoon. The kids love them! I highly recommend doing this ~ what a great cheap souvenier! I bought fabric markers and put them in the bag with the items. Not sure about washing, although the markers say nothing special is required...

I can just imagine how surprised our two daughters would be to receive a special souvenir like this...I sure hope they still offer this service in May!!

I kind of remember seeing DCL pillow cases on or last cruise. Do they still have these, or should I just bring my own?

I'm planning on picking up 3 white pillowcases next week (why wait until the last minute)... and I'm going to try the transfer deal.... So without reading any directions first, should I wash the pillowcases first and then place the transfers on??

I'm going to check out AC Moore and see what they have for supplies and also see what pictures I can snag.

If you don't supply your own waterproof markers, what do the characters sign with? Pens? Non-waterproof markers? Or do you just supply your own to get the autographs in color?

If your kids go to the PJ party in the kids club, they give them cruise line pillowcases that they color. I am sure you can drop this one off and get it signed, there are no pic on the back for them to color.
They also do Tshirts as well. You drop a tshirt off and get it signed.
