Can someone tell me about the naming ceremony for the pigmy puffs? I just heard about this for the first time today, and I'm curious.

There are tons of these video taped and out on YouTube. Just google it and you'll find a bunch.
What I saw, people buy them select a name and a big announcement is made. Sort of depends on the TM in Zonko's how big of a deal it becomes.

Yeah, the TM will basically ring a bell and call loudly so that everyone in Zonko's/Honeydukes can hear. Something like "Attention, wizards witches and muggles alike, we are happy to announce that Lily the PP has been adopted by this muggle family."

My daughter named hers afer her best friend who was sad we were going without her. It was fun to hear her name shouted through Zonkos

I should also say we had no idea that was going to happen.

I think younger kids would appreciate it more. Each time we were in Zonkos it was MOBBED! After 5 times in a row making an announcement and ringing a bell, it was a bit much.
