HI MY NAME KATIE SKELLINGTON AND I AM NINE. MY DAD SAYS THAT PIGLET IS AN ARMADILLO BECAUSE HE LOOKS LIKE HE HAS AN ARMADILLO SHELL AND HE HAS A POINTY NOSE. I THINK HE IS A PIG BECAUSE FOR ONE THING HIS NAME IS PIGLET AND HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THOUGHT OF AS A PIG. WHAT DO YOU THINK HE IS??? :cool1: :space: :scared1: :rotfl: :flower1:

Well you could try emailing Disney and asking them.
I googled armadillo and found a picture of one, and Piglet does look like a cuter version of an armadillo.

I always thought the "shell" was an outfit. Never even considererd that he looked like an armadillo.

I agree with Katie. He's not Armadillolet, so he's a pig.

Sorry Dad.

Tell your Dad that Piglet is a baby pig in a striped outfit.

I think the Pooh stories are originally British. Armadillos are North American.

Funny that you should ask, Katie. My daughter, who is also 9, did a report earlier this year on armadillos. After studying them and learning about their features, we all decided that Piglet was much more like an armadillo than a pig. I don't remember all the details that made us think that, but we had the same thought.

So he may officially be a pig according to Disney, but we suspect he was actually based on an armadillo.
