Pigeon Forge, TN-Black Bear Jamboree or Dixie Stampede!

We used to own a condo in Gatlinburg and went to the Dixie Stampede a couple of times. I loved it and would recommend it!

here is something to think about.....dixie stampede has a much better show, and the seating is much nicer....its in a u shape, the north vs. the south....there is an excellent amount of room and no heads to look over , noone to kick you...

black bear stinks...long tables, bench, and lots of heads to look over for the little ones.....(or short people)

Hands down,,,,Dixie Stampede and the food is good too

That is what I also liked...the u shape. I thought it was fun to have a north and a south.

I've never seen BB. However, I've been to Dixie Stampede and really enjoyed it. So did DD who was I guess around 5 at the time. She loved the action and the horses, of course! We'd go again.

Wow, with the three year old, it would be hard to say.... that is young...

Let's think about the 5 year old. Okay, BBJ has the bears... So, that is a given.. But, aside from that, does your 5 year old like horses? Would they appreciate the big 'circus arena' rodeo type of parts of Dixie Stampede. (jumping thru the flaming rings of fire, bright sequined costumes, etc... ( it also has wonderful and dramatic portions, covered wagon westward movement, cowboys and indians, with an incredible piece involving the indian 'phoenix'... I won't say more and be a spoiler!!!

BOTH shows have parts that are great for little ones, and great for adults too!!!

Think about it this way... Do you want sit-down stage show... Or do you want a big, audience interactive event.... NOTE: at BBJ I believe they serve you before the main show... At D.S. they serve you DURING the show, as part of the event.

PS: It is hard to remember, but, I think that I might prefer the food at D.S.... They are known for that cream-of-vegetable soup, the little roasted half chicken is good to! For dessert they serve like a fresh hot apple or cherry turnover thing that is very good.

The food at BBJ is good too. The kids would like the chicken strips.. I think they serve a scoop of ice cream with chocolate syrup for your dessert.

Decisions!!!... Decisions!!!!

Like I said... Just do both!!!

They are just such completely different experiences!!!

Personally, I would have to go with Dixie Stampede... But, the choice is YOURS!!!

DH and I saw the Black Bear Jamboree a year and a half ago, and you did not have to share a table with others. There were plenty of larger tables, but also plenty of tables for 2, 4 and 6. You mentioned two children, so are you a family of four? Then you would most likely have your own table, just for 4. The larger tables are on the main floor and the 2's and 4's are tiered. I'm short, only 5' and had no trouble seeing the show. And we had regular chairs, not benches, to sit on.

Right... the bench seating is at D.S.... It is staggared like a coleseum arena, so you are looking right over anyone in front of you. We like to get the back (fifth) row, where there are actual chairs... not sliding in and out, hemmed in on the benches.

At BBJ, if they do have smaller tables.. then get your tickets well in advance, and request a smaller table, in the front row of the tier. That would be just ideal.
