Can you get your ears pierced while on board the Dream? Daughter wants to gets hers re-pierced. Any major reasons we shouldnt even if we can? Thanks.

Sharp objects on a moving ship? No thank you. :)

Just do it on land. I personally would go to a proper piercer (not the mall) for it, and would research the good ones ahead of time. Can't do any of that in vacation.

And I don't think they have the service anyway.

I've never seen any indication that they do ear piercing on any of the Disney ships.

There are plenty of places that will pierce her ears in Nassau. That could be an experience she would remember for a long time.

I recommend having your daughter's ears pierced in the USA, in a place you've checked into beforehand (BBB reports, online reviews, etc.), and that has a good reputation for skilled work and hygiene. Not on a moving cruise ship, and not by a vendor on the side of a road in the Caribbean.

Agree with above posters, get it done at known place. Plus, you'll want to be on top of the cleaning of the piercing, which would be easier at home, but we've had some issues with infected ear piercings on one child, so that colors my viewpoint.

Lots of places to get it done, would recommend "locking" style studs to prevent them coming out (another bit of experience with different child with long hair which inadvertently pulled out the stud, causing a re-piercing experience after the initial holes healed/sealed completely). Most places pierce with a "locking" style, so not hard to find.

Good Luck!

I wouldn't get it done on or right before vacation. The place my daughter had hers pierced advised against swimming for a certain period of time, I don't remember if it was one week or two. Plus, (even though a slim risk) I would be uncomfortable about the risk of it getting infected while away from home.

Go to a piercing/tattoo parlor at home. Someplace that does it with a needle and not a gun. She won't be able to swim for several weeks if you don't want her ears getting infected.

The are age restrictions for the tattoo parlors in my state, as I had called to find out about ear piecing as well. Was told they can't walk in the door unless over 14 (as I recall), let alone get anything done. Maybe other states are different.

The last thing I would want to do is put fresh piercings in Salt Water. :scared: Id maybe do it after ? It takes a bit to heal and we found with DD once they were healed and she started switching her earrings that she was allergic to metals and basically we were back to treating her ears like she had just got them pierced again.
