I have a photo of a bowl of grub worm pasta that I ate in Sardinia so you know that it's really Italian type Italian food and not just Americanized Italian...

You had all different dishes at the Tutto pairing than we had at ours. Maybe it's worth doing two next year (if they have them). I've heard Il Mulino may be better than Tutto though. Maybe I should just go spend 50 bucks over there.

I might do another festival weekend November 11-15.

The prices (even for Disney!) are what kept me away from Tutto. I've been hearing so many good things, I might cave in and try lunch there. It's more economical (aka cheaper!) than dinner, at any rate.

The prices and the style of food, but I have to say it was good enough that we'd consider going back for lunch on another trip.

Getting a tiara is an acceptable excuse for being late.

That's good to know ... I think I will file that away for future reference!

ROFL! Yes, I think personal secretary works. It's gotta be the glasses and calm efficiency. ;) But that could also become the Sexy Librarian look, so it's all good.

 I almost said librarian, but my Dewey Decimal skills aren't where they need to be. :rotfl2:

Sounds like what happened at the Leather Muppet Jerky demo. We managed to sit behind Chelsi and Jason. I think if I could bring my Mom without my sister around, I'd probably have fun.

I think Jon would have a lot of fun if we could bring him to F&W without Grimace. Of course, his hearing is starting to go so he's liable to wander off and find himself in a pub somewhere getting sloshed, but as long as he's having a good time, more power to him!

Oh, I had a problem with Marrakesh the first year they did a pairing. The food was uninspired, and the wines were astringent unless you took a sip after a bite of food. Never been to a pairing there since.

I don't know when you did your pairing there but ours was in 2006 and we've never had any desire to go back. It was exactly like you described it and the service was lacking, too. It's the only pairing I wouldn't recommend to people.

Gotta love the bonus course! I think I lucked out at a pairing at Le Cellier back when Chef Brian was there. (He's since moved to Jiko and most recently, California Grill.) Gotta love four courses!

MORE! WE WANT MORE!!!

Oh man, that looks awesome. I dig that type of salad and cheese.

I even liked it, especially the cheese!

I thought, "Mmm, earthworms!" when I saw it. I think I had a grub-like pasta at the one Exquisitely Expensive Evening at Epcot I attended, but it was so good, I wanted to like the bowl clean. That dish reminds me of the pasta I enjoyed.

Worms and alll, I enjoyed every squishy bite of this dish! It was yummy!!

It's a bummer that the meat seemed to be masked by the sauce to hide potentially overcooked veal. At least you scored some taters!

To be fair it could have just been mine, but it was awfully chewy and stringy. The potatoes were really good, though!

This is the true envy part. Not only does that dessert sound amazing, you got some Rosa Regale with it!

Isn't this the real reason that we all booked this pairing in the first place? The promise of Rose Regale?

I would have felt totally spoiled by that!

I did. And embarrassed, especially when I saw the Epcot photographer guy was there taking pictures. I know he took one of me and Jay with the dessert and I'd bet new warm fuzzy blanket that it turned out awful. :lmao:

You just have a knack of finding the most attractive people to hang out with. :rotfl2:

We like to bask in the reflected beauty of everyone else! :thumbsup2

And here's where two worlds converge. While you were probably at your pairing, Catherine and I were in Epcot, too. Noticing the sea of (HOLY CRAP! IS THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF FLORIDA HERE?) humanity, as well. And where were we? In Italy, watching the World Showcase Players!

Yes, we were part of the wretched hive of scum and villainy!

Crazy, crazy crowds! And :lmao: ... you were the only one to comment on that line. I thought all the Star Wars geeks around here would be all over that!!

I loved the big honkin' margarita glass o' flowers! I think that glass is appropriate for plenty of us!

It was fabulous!

I think I'd want to book a pairing there, now. Watch it crash and burn next year.

I think this one can be relied upon. Deb's reviews and her guests reviews on All Ears have been consistently good over the past few years for this event. I think you should take a risk - it will be good!

Excellent! I didn't realize that the noodle was Italian ... it tasted really good and I would order it if we ever ate there for a regular meal.

Honestly Catherine, if we had to choose between Tutto and Il Mulino, even with the TWIT discount at Tutto we'd still go back to Il Mulino. The meal and service we had there were just excellent - truly one of the best meals we had on the trip, and that's saying something since we didn't really have any bad ones. And you get a limoncello shot at the end of the meal! :thumbsup2

I already used the Star Trek stuff by calling it Mark of Gideon crowds...only makes sense that Star Wars is used too..

Geez, Catherine.

I got scared when I saw your list of drinks. I had many of those items within the past couple of trips. Although I had the unfiltered sake, not the filtered kind.

But that was quite a nice drink list. ;)

TDC Nala, that is AWESOME!

I concur! :lmao:

And you found the only person who doesn't like Star Wars! I wouldn't know a Star Wars quote if it tripped me up! I'm more of a Trek girl. ;)

That makes perfect sense to me. Actually I didn't realize it was a Star Wars quote at first when Jay said it to me that day, but then we got home and the movie was on that weekend and I thought I was going to pee all over the couch when I heard Obi Wan say that to Luke. :rotfl2:

I already used the Star Trek stuff by calling it Mark of Gideon crowds...only makes sense that Star Wars is used too..

And you have a much better command of the quotes, too. You and Jay could go up against each other any time and I wouldn't want to bet money on who would win. I always remember the quotes wrong and have to look them up before using them here.

Geez, Catherine.

I got scared when I saw your list of drinks. I had many of those items within the past couple of trips. Although I had the unfiltered sake, not the filtered kind.

It was excellent! It's actually a great drinking checklist for future visits!

sorry but "filtered sake" seemed to better syllable wise than "unfiltered sake," but I do prefer the unfiltered stuff personally.

We like the unfiltered stuff better too. Ozeki Nigori is one that we really like that they sell at Epcot - some friends of ours turned us on to that one last year when we had dinner together at Tokyo Dining. :thumbsup2

I can't believe you left the margarita glass/vase! :sad1:

Didn't know what else to do. We had to re-pack / re-distribute at the SW counter as it was. :confused3

And the stuff inside the glass would have been a mess to clean out in the Villa - it was the consistency of attic insulation. And soggy to boot.

Ok, I guess Catherine gets a pass for poetic license.
I don't even know which one I picked at the sake bar. I asked the adorable
Japanase cast member (because you know the gals working there are all adorable) to point out the unfiltered one on the list. It seemed there was only one unfiltered that wasn't premium. That's the one I got.

This is just fantastic!!!! Knew you could do it. :woohoo:

Reporting back on the breakfast we had at Kouzzina last week, inspired by the picture of the sweet potato hash Jay had there -

Both of our breakfasts were great! I ordered that stacked breakfast, but subbed scrambled eggbeaters for the poached eggs. I had one of those Frappés, it came in the cutest little silver shaker and satisfied the coffee food group for the morning.

The star of the show though was my DH's waffle with whipped mascarpone cheese, honey, and chopped pecans! He gave me several bites and it was heavenly! He shared some of his mascarpone with me and I spread it on my kalamata olive toast, yummy!

As good as the stacked breakfast was, I think I'd switch to the waffle next time. He said the bacon was just passable, but I loved the chicken sausage I had with my meal, so would swap that out for the bacon. Unless they switch the menu out before our next visit, always a possibility.

Plus we had a great wait staff, which always makes a good meal better! Actually, we've always had great waiters there, whether it was Spoodles or Kouzzina.

Thanks again for posting those breakfast pictures which nudged me into making that breakfast ressie! (and Merry Christmas too!) :goodvibes

Welcome back!! :goodvibes

I'm so glad you both had a great breakfast at Kouzzina - that's wonderful news. Maybe they are starting to work out some of the kinks. :thumbsup2

I've heard good things about the Frappe ... if we ever go back I think I may have to try one. They look great in the pictures I've seen and cold coffee on a hot morning is usually a tasty treat.

Glad our review prompted you to go there - now I feel useful!!

Merry Christmas to you and yours! :goodvibes

Happy Chrimble to everyone here!!! :goodvibes Best wishes to you all for a wonderful holiday filled with love and laughter and amazing food and booze. Thanks, as always, for taking the time to read our scribbles. It's our pleasure to eat and drink for your benefit!! :grouphug:
