Omg- that rating system is great. I especially love the Jay Sherman one.:lmao:

The grouper is at Citrico's. Definitely worth a try. Also have to agree with previous comments about the goat cheese balls (can't remember the exact name - to bad I made them sound like Rocky Mountain Oysters). For dessert, there's some chocolate thingy, which I can't remember the name of, that's definitely not boring. In fact, coffee is a necessity just to cut the richness.

Finally reached the end of 27 pages. Man it's slow moving with all the pics and animations. My ancient PC is wheezing.

Thanks for the Citricos pointers ... am off to review their menu anew. I can't believe you actually read everything ... you deserve a medal (or at least a beer). :thumbsup2

She has returned! Thanks for stopping by ... looking forward to your reviews now that you're home. :goodvibes

Hiya! I'm sitting around on a Sunday morning ... getting ready to leave soon for my pre-vacation spa fix. A woman like me who will shortly turn 40 and has sensitive skin, wonky hormones, and a daily 12-pill cocktail to choke down needs all the cosmetic help she can get! :lmao:

I've been thinking of drinks that I want to try on this trip ...

The Welsh Dragon
Parisian Cosmo
Various Margaritas from the Tequila Ditch
White Sangria
Zooberry
Lapu Lapu
Yak Attack

And many others that I can't think of right now!

Also ... yesterday I finally made it to a local jewelry store with a couple of pieces from my early college days that have been collecting dust. I'm not a huge jewelry person (less is usually more in my book) and I figured I might as well try to get some extra cash for the trip.

Booyah baby! I got more than enough to cover the cost of the 1/2 ounce caviar service at Victoria & Albert's on the 18th! Since we're dining with friends, Jay and I thought this would be a good time to purchase the service and share it with everyone. Of course, a lot will depend on my digestive system, which has been less than well behaved for the last six weeks, but I'm hoping for the best. :thumbsup2

If anyone has any drink suggestions feel free to offer them up, but please go easy on the sweet, fruity ones because those give both Jay and me a serious case of the gacks! :rotfl2:

B,
Will there be a final posting of the restaurants planned before you leave, or is it in a perpetual state of flux? Is the original itinerary still solid? Just asking.

Marcia's Martian (or Space Monkey) at Sci-Fi (are you going there???)
Peach Snap (it's Nicki's fav... I've got to try it too...in 19 days!!!!!!)
OH, how 'bout a Frozen Mojito... it sounds good to me.
AND... the Lapu Lapu... that wasn't on the list!!!

Those drinks with red stuff in them, they'll make my face swell up badly... I can't have anything with red dye, or it'll ruin my vacation! I'm still waiting to hear if it's the Pama pomegranate liquor in the Pomegranate Kir Royale.... or if it's something else that contains red dye.

Turning 40 is going to be horrible here too.... too bad we won't be able to toss back a toast on our day... bummer.

Hi Brenda! Look forward to another great dining report! As far as drink suggestions...have you tried at French Martini at CG? It's made with vodka, Chambord & pineapple juice. Of course I like the sweet drinks so I'm probably the wrong one to be giving suggestions, but if it's made right it shouldn't be too sweet. I'm pretty sure you've tried all my favorites, i.e. Grey Goose Lemon Slushie, Rosa Regale, etc. (notice the sweet factor?) I absolutely dispise the Welsh Dragon, because melon liquor reminds of a bad run-in I once had with a few Melon Balls waaaay back in my early twenties.

Absolutely! If you like shortribs, try the surf and turf appetizer at bluezoo. Three perfectly (and I mean the best I've ever had) seared scallops on a bed of braised shortribs. To say I ate this is to say Michaelangelo made nice sand castles. It was a life event that ranks up there with my marriage and the birth of DD(16).

Pork Tenderloin at CG is wonderful. They used to have a veal cheek dish that made it taste like a Bojangles pork chop buscuit by comparison. It was like eating butter - only beefy.

If you're feeling fishy - and why be in FL if you're not going to eat seafood - try the pan-seared grouper. It's moist and flaky with a light broth. Rivals any sea bass you'll ever have.

I am laughing and drooling at the same time.:lmao:

I can't wait to hear about V&A!!

Greetings Mr. Scorpio! The line-up posted on the first page is not going to change (with the possible exception of Yachtsman) unless digestive disaster strikes. We have buffed our plans with a soft cotton shammy and they are as shiny and happy and solid as they will ever be at this point.

Anything specific I can scope out for you while we're there?

Marcia's Martian (or Space Monkey) at Sci-Fi (are you going there???)
Peach Snap (it's Nicki's fav... I've got to try it too...in 19 days!!!!!!)

Oh yes ... Martia's Martin is a tasty beverage. No Sci-Fi on this trip, though; we canceled it after American Airlines wankingly wanked on my nephew's arrival time for that day. And how could I forget the Lapu Lapu? :headache: I will go back and add it to the list. Frozen mojito ... that sounds do-able and refreshing - thanks for the idea! No dice on the peach slush ... I do not like peach flavored drinks at all.

The pomegranate Kir uses Pama - I've ordered it several times and the only ingredients should be Pama and Champagne ... very tasty drink! :thumbsup2

Hi Diane! Are you guys going to be in WDW this month?

I have tried the French Martini at CG on past trips and it's very good; thanks for reminding me. And thanks for joining the fun - I hope you enjoy our newest batch of food travels!

Spa and booze talk.:cloud9:

I can't wait to hear about V&A!!

To quote BriarRosie, "SPAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" :cloud9:

It was a lovely facial / massage. And I'm so looking forward to V&A ... only two weeks from tonight. I also had to buy a new dress because my black ones are too small for me to wear right now ... I've gone up a dress size this year thanks to my inability to drop the poundage. So now I'm wearing pistachio green silk ... I figure if I am nuts I might as well look like one, too! :lmao:

MMMMMMMM!!!!! Sounds VERY yummy! I wonder if I walked into Sci-fi, and asked for a Marcia's Martian to go, if I could get it.... LOL!!! Might be worth the try ;);)

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: You really do crack me up!

Well, I aim to please.

You know ... that's a great idea! I wonder if we could get aquavit to go in Norway and Unibroue to go in Canada??? That would make life so much better.

I can see it now ... Bendy approaches the podium and says, "Pardon me; my husband and I have no desire to eat here but can we please have some of your native booze in a to-go cup??" :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well, how 'bout you try that and tell me how it works.... ;););):lmao::lmao: I'd be interested in hearing about what happens.

OH, and make sure you wear your birthday button, when you attempt the "to-go" booze run.... maybe they'll take pity on you -esp if it says the monumental number on the pin! :scared1::lmao: I can see it now.... "let's get the lady a drink, she needs it..." (and you know I'm saying this cuz I'll be the same age this year too... )

(do I have the story going correctly? - I am so giggling in front of the computer writing this...:laughing: I'm gonna try it, just because I want to know what will happen... Seriously, there should be bars in all of the good boozy restaurants!!! -and there should be a to-go window too!!! ;):rotfl:)

:lmao::rotfl2:

I've already warned Jay that I'm planning on giving this a try on more than one day. The worst that can happen is that they say no; so why not give it a try?

The birthday button is an inspired idea, Angela; I'm definitely going to make sure I'm wearing it. :thumbsup2

There you go.... every now and then I have those inspired moments... :lmao::rotfl2:

I forgot about my Spaaaaaaaahhhhhhh comments.

I'm thinking my dresses are too big, which could be a good thing when you look at it. But I have a dress that is the proper size, so I'm going to try that out and see how that works for me. Either that or go swimming in my bigger dress.

I will be at the Spaaaaaaaaaahh on Wed getting appropriately painted nails and toes for Halloween festivities at Disneyland.:cool2:

Great news about the dresses being too big!!:cool1:

Sadly no, not this year. Although I can't be too sad, because we're going for NYE in lieu of the F&W this year. I haven't seen the castle all sparkly yet & we're celebrating my 46th birthday at CG on the 30th of Dec. at 9:00pm so we'll get to see the special showing of Wishes at 11:50pm from the observation deck. I will have to live vicariously through all your yummy reviews.
