jay always manages to make me laugh in situations like this and he said, "alcoholic implies that you have a problem ... You're just a drunk!"

don't come between bendy and her booze!

Liked the review, Brenda! And I am thinking you and your handsome hubby had a table in the very same area we did earlier in the month. Tink flew right over our heads and landed on the roof above. It was perfect. Well... other than for the behemoth who decided it was OK to walk right up and step in front of us.

Looks good. I can see trying the dessert party for the sake of trying something new Thanks for the alcohol tip!

Like many things at WDW I think everyone needs to try it for themselves to decide whether or not it's really worth doing. We don't regret attending but know that we won't do so again.

As for the alcohol tip ... I'm always trying to help you guys out when I can!

Hey Brenda...sooooo glad to hear your Mom is doing better. We will continue to keep her in our hearts and prayers during her recovery time.

Kevin, thanks so much; your kindness is greatly appreciated.

I would have loved being the lady in the Cheetos commercial who hugs the smarmy braggart mother of an overachiever by schmearing her cheesy orange hands on the back of the white blouse.

Except chocolately hands, schmearing the back of the loser who decided he was better than you were and had to block your view.

:rotfl2: I didn't think of that but it would have been a perfect solution if they hadn't given us some space.

Drunks to to a Ditch- Alcoholics go to meetings!;)

Your picture isn't showing up but I have to wonder if it shows a certain someone with two margaritas? :rotfl2:

Thanks Elin! It's funny that you mentioned your table ... when we were seated that night I mentioned you and your hubby to Jay and told him I thought it was the same table you guys had once I saw the Tinkerbell wire.

Glad your mom is feeling better! :goodvibes

I can't believe that the TSA agent asked who the alcoholic was! :scared: I think that is the best travel tip I've ever heard and used it again this year!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for your review of the dessert party! I must say I am curious as to which well chosen words inspired the "butt family" to give you some room. ;)

Were you able to sit during the fireworks or were you forced to stand to "protect your view"? Thanks for the review- I go in 3 weeks and have the Dessert party booked.:)

I'm not Brenda, but... We continued to sit at our little table. A little of the castle was blocked by a large man who stepped in front of us just as Tink started her slide, but by moving our chairs slightly we were fine. Many people do come to the rail for the show, though.

Now THAT was more like it. A meal of all sugar!! Whoo hoooo!!:woohoo:

Your story about the family standing right in front of you reminds me of the 6'5" man who thought it would be a great idea to stand in front of me (5'4") with a 9 year old child on his shoulders. They were in the front row......:rolleyes1:confused3

Brenda -

I'm so happy to hear that Grimmy is better - after my father had his stints put in, he became MUCH less grumpy - more blood through the body does the whole body good!

(And, whenever he starts being a poot head again, off to the cardiologist he goes...and he has prevented another heart-attack that way! So be on the look out for behavioral changes - you will be amazed!)

Highjack over...

I'm still on the fence with the dessert party - it looks great, BUT only if you get a good table, AND if your fellow vacationers aren't j*cka**es....but thanks for taking one for the team and trying it out!

Y'all are still in my prayers -

Jaime

I am so glad your mom is feeling better, she sounds like my aunt, will do anything to get back to gambling!

Loved your review of the Dessert Party..we are going on our MVMCP night, cannot wait!

so glad that your mom is doing better Brenda...very good news indeed!! :)
thanks for the wishes dessert party review..i was quite intrigued by that one. Maybe someday we will do it..but i am not sure if it would really be worth it since i am the one with the sweet tooth in our family. Perhaps I will just get an Itzakadoozie and watch like i normally do ;)..

The alcohol in a plastic baggie is hilarious!!!! I love it!!! Also considering my 'alcohol' budget for Disney is usually bigger than my 'souvenir' budget :lmao:

So glad your mom is feeling better (and you too!) Thanks for the great reviews!

So glad to hear your Mom is on the road to recovery.
Enjoyed hearing about your dessert party & like some others inquiring minds want to know what you said to get the peeps to move.:confused3

Glad your Mom is doing better!!
Those desserts look mouth-watering. It's something I'm interested in trying, just because we never saw Wishes head on.
Looking forward to more!

I gotta remember that one! :rotfl2:

Enjoyed your review of the dessert buffet. We keep going back and forth about booking it, but we probably won't.

Looking forward to the next installment!

So glad that Grimace is better so we can have our Bendy back

Love the baggie tips :thumbsup2 but I've gotta say I'm glad I just drive to the World. I pack full size bottles for my trips ;)

I fly, but I pack full size bottles anyway - just triple-bag'em and tape them up good and I've never had a problem.

I think I am going to call garden grocer and see if they can deliver wine - they brought my sister and BIL beer along with their groceries last summer.

So, catch me up on the dessert party scoop. I wasn't on the DIS for awhile, and then now all of a sudden everyone is booking this dessert party, and I feel totally out of the loop. :sad2: How do you book it, what's the cost....tell me everything! And if everything is too much to post on here, PM me with everything! :)

Thanks Christine - I talked to Grimace while I was at work today and she's feeling pretty good. Each day is a little better and that makes me feel a lot better. :thumbsup2

I knew a moment of fear with the TSA screeners but luckily we made it through with our booze.

As for the others at that party ... we just tactfully reminded them that our table was for two, not six.

Were you able to sit during the fireworks or were you forced to stand to "protect your view"? Thanks for the review- I go in 3 weeks and have the Dessert party booked.:)

We were able to sit to watch the fireworks but there were people in front of us at the railing blocking the castle. Had we wanted to take pictures during the fireworks it would have been impossible unless we were standing at the railing. But if you just want to sit and enjoy the show (which is what we wanted) then you should be fine as long as people remember their manners.

Yes ... what Elin said!

Hiya Goose! I thought you might like this mini-review. As for your story ... it's always something, isn't it? I've seen that happen lots of times.

Jaime thank you for the great advice and good thoughts. I will also be sure to pass on your experiences with your dad to both of my parents ... might as well have them be on the lookout for this stuff before it gets bad again.

I think the dessert party is worth doing at least once, especially if you want to try something new. The only way we'd do it again is if we were traveling with someone else who really wanted to try it ... then I'm sure we could suffer through it once more.

I am so glad your mom is feeling better, she sounds like my aunt, will do anything to get back to gambling!

Thanks Nicki! I think you will really enjoy the dessert party, especially on a party night - I look forward to hearing what you think of it.

Hi Gina! Welcome home and thanks for the good Grimmie wishes.

I don't think there's a right or wrong when it comes to the dessert party ... obviously Disney made money on Jay and me that night since all we ate was those two plates that we shared. But it was fun and it's not like we have a chance to do anything like that here in Stinktown, so no regrets!

Alcohol in a baggie is how we survive the flight into Orlando, too! Our flight out of STL on the 14th of October had so many kids on it that the flight attendants were asking the kids why they were all skipping school. There is no fall break here in STL so Jay and I found that hilarious. And Cirroc vodka added to Southwest Airlines Orange-Flavored Beverine is a pretty tasty morning drink that helps blur the ambient noise of screaming childrens.

Thanks for reading and thanks for the kind words about my mom (and me!).

So glad to hear your Mom is on the road to recovery.

Thanks for the kind words about my Grimmie and thanks for reading! All I did was remind them that our table only allowed seating for two ... not six. ;)

Glad your Mom is doing better!!

Hi Denise! Jay loves to say that to me ... I wonder why? ;)

I can see why you might choose not to book ... once you start moving past two people it starts to get really pricey really fast. It really does have to be a special ocassion event at that point in my opinion and I'm not sure I think the price is worth it for a family of four or more ... tough call.

Thanks for reading!

So glad that Grimace is better so we can have our Bendy back

Love the baggie tips :thumbsup2 but I've gotta say I'm glad I just drive to the World. I pack full size bottles for my trips ;)

Thanks Chelle! If we drove to Disney I'd probably have a U-Haul trailer stocked with a full size bar! :rotfl2:

Very good ideas ... perhaps we will consider this in the future. :thumbsup2

Hmmm, let's see. Over the summer the MK started offering these Wishes Dessert buffets on select evenings. The advantage ... other than all the sugar you can eat in the hour leading up to Wishes ... is that you have a reserved table from which you might (or might not) be able to enjoy the fireworks. The party is limited so it's not crowded like it would be if you're watching out on Main Street or in the castle hub.

Here is the information that the DIS is posting:

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party

UPDATE: The Wishes Dessert Party has been extended through December 29, 2009. The event is subject to availability and WILL take place on nights of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party but will still require purchasing separate admission. Adults 10 and older are $23.42 and children 3-9 are $12.77. This price includes tax.

This event includes a self-service buffet at the Tomorrowland Noodle Station with sweets, beverages and exclusive viewing of Wishes, the nightly fireworks. Reservations are not required, but are recommended as seating is limited. To reserve a space, prepayment is necessary. Space permitting, there may be seating available for walk-ups. Currently the Disney Dining Plan is not accepted. Reservations are available by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

And here is a review from the DISunplugged back in June when the party first started to be offered - it's very good (more pics than I had, too!).

DISunplugged Review

That was great that you got such fabulous seats for the fireworks! Desserts looked pretty good, but it is hard to enjoy something like that when it's drippingly humid. I enjoyed some peppermint ice cream tonight myself; woohoo for holiday flavors! :cool1:

Oh, and I forgot to say I wish they made wine in little bottles....
