Do you have to have your picture taken upon boarding the ship? I really do not care for the back drop they are using and know I won't buy the pictures anyway. Can you avoid the line somehow, and not wait for all the pictures? Or just wait till your turn and then decline?

For the Pictures with the ship etc. ... do you need an appointment or just get in line somewhere (I guessing near dinner). I've seen alot of really nice pictures of people here on the dis with there families all dressed up and the ship etc... So wondering where they take these? A studio?

Thanks MKY princess:

HI, when you first get on the boat, this is where the families are taking their group photos. You can avoid this by walking to the left, and gently letting the people know that you are not interested in getting your picture taken. We did this on our last cruise. It is a nice souvenir though, with the date and all on it.

For the other pictures, every night there is a different background, semi-formal night, formal night, etc. In my three experiences on the magic, this was done right outside Lumiere's. Your times will be posted. We opted to do this before dinner, and were sure glad we did. The line ups can get long.

You can try every picture and background if you wish, and only purchase the ones you find to be the best. This is what we did. I liked to have a selection to choose from, just hard to put some back...lol

HTH

Wanted to add that no appointment is taken, first come first serve. Although for the 3D Crystal pictures, they did take appointments for this.
