Has anyone actually waited to have the meet and greet with Ariel? Does anyone have any pictures of that? I want to know if it's worth the wait, the line has never been less than 45 minutes.

I waited with my daughter and my lil sister. the reason the line is sooo long is because she takes her time to talk with the kids and take pics and everything. Its worth it if you really like her. She is my dd's favorite princess and my lil sisters second fave. It was really worth it for them. If I can find the pic of her with ariel I'll post it.

We meet her every time we go. She does take quite awhile with each child and takes frequent breaks...and I'm not sure how she gets out of there but I'm assuming that she has to be carried???? Anyway, go straight to Fantasyland and get there about 9:45am (she starts greeting at 10am I believe) and the line won't be that bad. DD loves her.

Here is here having a little chat with DD...she was asking her if she combed her hair with a dinglehopper!

Last October we were there around 10 and no line. She talked to my dd for about 5 minutes. Nobody behind us or in front of us. I got some really good pictures with her. We had just come from crt and my daughter didn't have her book open yet. They went through it and she showed her all of the other princesses signatures looking for an empty page.

We waited for about 2 hours and it was definitely worth the wait according to my girls...and all the pics. She spent a LOT of time talking with my girls and even sang with them. The photopass photographer took about 3 dozen pics of my girls. If I had known how long the wait would be, we would definitely have been there before her shift started.

We haven't ever waited that long but we line up before she opens. The fountains spit water so that is fun for the kids to look at. One of us usually gets in line while the other lets them sit close by but where they can still move around. It's a good time to plan a morning snack.

Went in 1999 with my cousins and it was the longest wait for any attraction or ride. I think we waited at least 30 min. Not sure why we went (other than to say we did everything) - they were 8 and 10 yrs.

I can almost guarentee that we all remember it. As Ariel said "Let's get mommy in the picture". I think both my sister and I looked at each other and were trying to figure out which one of us was suppose to be mommy. Just so you know - I was 14 when our cousin (10) was born and my sister was 12 yrs old.

Our first trip we didn't wait in the line. It was huge & very very hot. Our second trip we got smarter and we got in line just before it opened in the morning & only waited 10 minutes. DD was absolutely thrilled. Ariel was very friendly & chatty. She kept telling DD how she loved her "sea anemones in her hair & was so glad DD wore them for her.:goodvibes

This is one of my favorite pictures from our trip!! DS#2 was 2 at the time. He kept saying "Ariel kiss me" the whole trip. So our last day I made it our mission. We were standing in the Dumbo line and I noticed some people lining up outside the Ariel spot at 9:20. We got off Dumbo and I asked the CM when Ariel came out and she said "a little earlier today". So we went ahead and got in line. Ariel was there about 9:40, and our wait was 10 minutes tops. She was so sweet and attentive to DS.

Now of course when we go back (he's 4 now) there's NO WAY he'd let a girl kiss him. :rotfl: So glad we did it then.

Here's my dd a year and a half ago with Ariel. We waited a LONG time. Probably close to 2 hours, and the fountains weren't working, but the kids did well.

Oh that Ariel line is the worst! But... for the time she gives the kids it's totally worth it. My DD still talks about it.

We haven't done it during regular park hours but we did do it for P&PP this past feb and after doing it I would definetely do it during park hours again. We really enjoyed it.

this is the photo I had in my photobucket and I have several more on my photopass.

Wait in the line...I remember thinking why is this line soooo long. If my daughter didn't love Ariel so much and if that wasn't the only place that we were going with a chance of seeing her, I think we might have left the line. BUT- imagine your face if you just found out that you won the lottery...That was my daughter's exact expression when she saw Ariel sitting on that big rock. Granted, my daughter (5 at the time) has always been a huge Ariel fan but I think it would be worth the wait for any little girl. Ariel was great with my DD and when it was time to leave, my DD literally walked BACKWARDS out of the grotto so that she could keep her eyes on Ariel (even though Ariel had moved on to the next child) as long as possible. My eyes were filled with tears the whole time that it was my DD's "turn" with Ariel. It was worth all the time, money, and energy we spent on the whole trip for those few moments. It's a time I'll remember even if my daughter forgets it all one day. I was thrilled for my DD to see her. It was truly "Disney Magic!"

We have never waited in line more than 20 minutes for Ariel ... just go when she first opens in the morning!!! :) We were there over spring break this year and she was actually in the grotto about 20 minutes before the official opening.

Ariel in her grotto is very neat! The setting is so detailed and Ariel is so good with the kids.

I am so excited to hear all the great reports! My DD nearly 2, loves "Mermaid!" This will be a definite must on our upcoming trip. I'm pretty sure she'll think the grotto is neat too. She likes sea themed things.:lovestruc

We waiting 45 minutes in off season. Line is deceiving--incredibly slow but Ariel takes her time with you when you (FINALLY) make into the grotto. If you have the time--multiple days at parks AND its important character for child, I would do it. I can't imagine waiting 2hrs in line though--like previous posters said!
