There has been so much hate about this, but, really they did a very expensive, very detailed and very creative overlay for the castle for that one celebration. If anyone wonders why we don't get special stuff anymore, it is because most of the public has so little imagination that the mere action of covering up a plastic castle with a plastic celebration cake, is just beyond peoples ability to accept. Oh, well, they won't be doing that anymore so we no longer have to worry about it. The money that they don't spend on whimsical stuff like this will just go into Iger's bonus. I'm sure he will enjoy the cash infusion.

I remember this when i was a kid Roger Rabbit at MGM. I hated opening the sound boxes, i used to scared of them.

Well, they obviously misread the public and thought that grownups were able understand that the castle wasn't real and that the cake was a brilliant and expensive idea of making a party like mood in the parks for its 25 anniversary. They just didn't know that people were so emotionally tied to a big chunk of plastic. They were too good at creating the castle and people thought it was really a castle. So good job, bad job Disney! Need not worry because along with almost everything else, it will never happen again. To bad, maybe it was whimsical stuff like that that actually set the feeling that the "good old days" of Disney were better and less museum like.
