So I'm like 2 trips behind editing. i try to make a phonebook from iPhoto for each trip since we had kids. figured it was nicer than printing out all the pictures. that way ones i like i can have a dedicated page to and for other pics not as good can be filed onto a single page or two. they also tell nice stories. i try to tell the story of the trip through the book. i always try to theme the books and on the jacket i dedicate each book to my kids with a little story of the trip. hopefully they will appreciate it years to come. i know my son and daughter do like to look at the pics of the trips cause the recent trips are always on or phones and iPads and i see them flipping through the pics a lot.

the quality of iPhoto is good enough i think. open for suggestions of something better if you guys have experience with iPhoto's quality.

do you guys go back to older trips and go through your pics now and then? today i pulled out the proofs of our last trip to disney without kids. lol funny i took way way less pictures. i want to pull out my albums of all our trips together since we started going out to see how the parks have changed over the years. even as i do a trip from a year ago i say. . . that's gone. . . this is going. . . oh look what's here now. . . do i have a picture of what's there. . . lol

sorry. . . just my thoughts for the day. . . i haven't been around here lately cause it was summer and i have no time to be editing out pictures during the summer. . . fall is coming so i'm getting caught up.

Just the other day I pulled up some of my old albums and flipped through them - the hand and wand, for instance. :)

I found that if I actually have the pictures in albums, I tend to get them out more often than if I just have them in a digital format. I go to the shelf, pull out the album and look through them. Even the kids tend to do that now and then. The vacation pictures we didn't put in an album yet are usually taken, edited, looked at once and then all forgotten. Now I am going to back to putting them all back in scarpbooks or photobooks.

I have a media center PC, so the digital copies get pulled out much more frequently - they're my screen saver for all of the TVs in the house. It's a pleasant surprise to have pictures you'd forgotten about show up on the screen. :)

I do have physical albums as well, on my bookshelf in the basement, and do bring them out as I've assembled them not just for viewing the photos but because they tell a cohesive story.
