Hi Guys,
I am looking for pictures of Tamu Tamu courtyard, am thinking of holding our reception here, but have a question, Can an event here only occur after the park has closed? Any pictures or experiences are welcome

Receptions there can only start 2 hours after park closing time. So if they close at 5pm you can have a 7pm reception, if they close at 6 or 7 then an 8 or 9pm reception.

Thats AWESOME!!! I wish escape brides could get married there! How beautiful and unique!

My event was suppose to me in the Tamu Tamu Courtyard on June 23. (It rained, so we had it at Pizzafari.) Animal Kingdom closed at 7 that night and the dinner portion of my event courtyard started at 7:30.

I can post more pics of the courtyard in a couple of days.

I just found this thread and I noticed that they had ROOT photography take their photos in the park. I thought you couldn't use outside photographers like ROOT inside the parks, only Disney photography???:confused3

That wedding took place before the 'no outside photographer @ in-park locations' rule was established.

I, too, am looking into Tamu Tamu for a reception. I have 48 guests coming and I know the space allows for 50. At max capacity, is there going to be enough room for dancing? :dance3: We're not big dancers, but it would be nice to have a little boogey room. (^_^)

When they list the amount of people a place can hold they do not take a dance floor into consideration. I am having my reception in Animal Kingdom and wanted the Ruins but it was too small for all my guest and a dance floor so I had to go with Harambre Village.

Do you have a trip journal or anything like that from your wedding?? I'd love to see an AK wedding!

Here's a link to a slideshow of a couple who had their reception at Tamu Tamu:

And here's a link to Disney's event info (and photos) for the location:

Carrie, that event info form you put up, is there a place to find those for other event spaces? I tried going backwards on the url by doing www.disneymedialab.com but got a giant fail on that one.

Hello Sharon! First let me say I am so sorry it rained on your big day but hey they say it's good luck! ;) I was curious to know what you thought of Pizzafari? If it rains on our day Pizzafari and the Tusker House are the two possible back up locations for us. We don't get to choose which one we want we will just be placed there. Which I am completely fine with either as I think they are both so much fun! I would love to see your pictures from this site! :cheer2:

If you are thinking you might be squished into the Tamu Tamu courtyard you can always think about The Belvedere. :goodvibes I am currently planning my reception there and it holds a max of up to 80 people. (I think this number can go as high as 100 on some sites but the info given to me by Disney says 80) With the way the CAD has come out I would say you could possibly do 100 people but it might get tight after you add in all the tables. This site is located on the Maharajah Jungle Trek right past the tiger enclosure. I can't wait!!!

I am super excited to see some other brides doing an Animal Kingdom wedding or thinking about it! :grouphug:

Unfortunately, no. They like to make you get the info directly from a planner. ;) I have the particulars on the more popular locations in my book, but if there's a specific one you don't see, let me know and I'll see if I have the info somewhere.

I got married at Shades of Green and had a Disney Catered Event, Summer Safari/Karibu Dinner. Since it rained, they placed us in the Nocturnal Room and put curtains up on the doorways. (They gave us Disney ponchos as we got of the bus.) The adult buffet was in the center of the room and the child buffet came across dividing the room into the adult and child area. I have gift bags for the kids with crayons, coloring books, etc.. in them. The adult tables had a giraffe statue that we gave to each family with a ribbon with our names and the wedding date. There was a dessert table set up against the wall and the bartender/drink station on the other.
I don't have a lot of pictures of the room and they are on another computer. I will try to post some.

Let me know if I can answer any questions.

Thank you! Belvedere sounds like the perfect option for us. I started looking at photos from other threads and it's SO beautiful!!! Now I don't have to worry if my DF's Aunt and husband decide to show (that would have been 2 people too many at Tamu Tamu). We'll have plenty of room to get our groove on. You are awesome! (^_^)

:cloud9: If you have any questions or would like me to send you any info on the site please let me know. I would be happy to scan and email you anything I can. I can promise you that the pictures do not do this site justice. It really is a gorgeous location!

Hi there: Your wedding looks amazing.... I was looking at your reception at Belvedere and was exactly what I am looking for. I didn't want to wait until my wedding planner got back to me, but what are the hours like for having a reception? I see that your reception has to start 2 hours after the park closes. My wedding date is on April 20, and I also found something that said it may not be available for April? Do you have any more information for me on this? Also is it really $3000??? And what does that include - why is it so expensive? What do you think of Tamu Tamu in comparison to this if that was my only choice (due to my wedding happening in April)?
Thanks so much.
