I read on TUGS that there is a landfill near the site Disney wants to build & Disney is using its pull to get the site closed & to get Oahu to ship its garbage to oregon (or Washington). Apparently, a lot of people in Oregon are upset at Disney - it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Can't they just burn the trash? They don't have to ship it to the mainland, just to the volcano on the nearby big island

Thanks for the info! We stayed at the Marriott Ko'Olina (hotel, not VC) a couple of summers ago and really enjoyed it. It was so peaceful being out of Honolulu, but not a far drive to anything. It seems like DH and I walked from one cove to the next. It's not as far as it looks. We're looking at buying DVC next month and are excited about using this option when we return to Hawaii (in a bunch of years from now).

Thanks for the great pictures by land and from the air. Anyone think there will eventually be a view by sea (by DCL)? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will materialize when DCL brings their 2 new ships online in a few years (around the same time as they open the DVC resort, maybe?). Any similar thoughts or am I way off base?

About 800 rooms.......half (about 400) are currently proposed for DVC.

Aloha everyone,

I am a homeowner at the Beach Villas on Lagoon Two. The above photos of the Disney Site are the incorrect location.

The marks or striations in the dirt referenced in the original post is the sprinkler system next to our property to keep the dirt down in the pools at our property, the Beach Villas.

The construction of the Disney site is on Lagoon One, the photos are from Lagoon Two. Let me Illustrate:

Thanks for the sense of the resort area. I went to the website, but the cam is not working correctly. All I can see are floor tiles.
