Hi,
Does anyone have any pictures of the bedrail DCL has that we could request?
Thank you so much!

This is the rail that is already on the bed

Thank you so much!
You guys are awesome.
I was wondering if it's possible to put one of those really long bed rails on the pullout sofa bed?

You know, looking at the pic, it may be possible to wedge the ladder down between the sofa and the mattress if you need to? :confused3

I don't have a picture but yes you can have a bed rail on the sofa.

Oh goody!
Thanks SO much everyone!!!
DD will only be 9mo then but I don't like those pnp mattresses. They are so uncomfortable. She tried sleeping on one of those recently and she only napped about 45min in it. At home she naps about 2-2.5hrs at a time in her crib.
I'd hate to put her in one of those uncomfy bed.
Hoping I could secure the sofa bed enough that she could sleep on it.

I'm even tempted to bring our own pnp 3" mattress, but DH just laughed at me... :lmao:

IMHO, I would not put a 9mo on the sofa-bed with bed rails. I don't THINK it's possible to have rails the full length of the bed, and that would leave the possibility of baby moving around in bed and eventually falling out.

I think you need to either use a pnp, or if you are used to co-sleeping, we took a 14mo and I slept on the sofa-bed while DW and baby slept in the queen bed.

Oh man... you don't think that full length rail is enough to contain a 9mo? :scared:
It looks like it covers the whole length of the bed, so I figure if we can attach it to each side of the sofabed we might be ok?

poopy... :sad1:

My DH is too scared to cosleep, he's afraid to roll over the baby unfortunately. Maybe she has to sleep in the pnp afterall or I have to get those kidco tent or something.

We were on the Disney Wonder in September, in a Category 4. Here is a look at the bed rails we got in our stateroom each night. BTW, it was very sturdy.

Our experience with bed rails on DCL was when DS was 2.5yo. At that time, they had some portable bed rails (not the metal ones that seem to be attatched to the bed that drops down out of the ceiling). The portable bed rails seemed to just be the standard rails you migh get at TRU that are only about 3' long. Now I don't recall needing rails on both sides of the sofa-bed... but then again for DS perhaps the bed wasn't being flipped like normal. I just recall that the sofa-bed was so close to the floor, and DS was used to sleeping on a matriss on the floor, we didn't worry about him falling out of the bed and didn't even use the bed rails. (BTW, I'm also posting sort-of blind because many image hosting sites are blocked from where I'm at right now).

Co-sleeping has its dangers, and if you are not used to doing so, I would tend to agree with your husband that you shouldn't start just for this trip. In our case, we had has some various issues that caused DW to learn to sleep with a baby in her arms, on her shoulder, or in the bed. So for us, it wasn't something new to allow Mommy and Baby use the big bed.

Are you bringing a stroller? One that has the ability for the seat to lie flat? If so when you are all "in" for the night you could always set it up just inside the door and have the baby sleep lying in the stroller if it lies back flat. :confused3 Just an idea?

Yeah, I guess I'll talk to the hubby again and see what we need to do. Curses!

I thought about that actually. But DD loves to roll around and I hate to "cage" her in a smaller place.

Our 6 month old sleeps with a mattress pad under his sheet because it is noisy when he flips over and kicks his feet. I just plan to use an extra blanket to put under a sheet we're bringing with. That way it will be a little softer to sleep on. ITA those PNP pads are not very comfortable. I think I would let my kiddo sleep on the couch with a rail for a nap, but not overnight. We just bring a monitor with so we can sit outside the room and watch a movie on the balcony. Or DH will "volunteer" to nap with the kids. :rotfl:

Can we request an extra bed rail for the bunk bed and the bottom bed too? In addition to the one that comes with the bed.

If you are going to request extra bed rails, I would do it in advance. Our first cruise with DS, we didn't know we had to book them. When we got on the cruise they were all being used. We had to fashion our own with pillows and 'table' in the room.
